I’m in the same boat. I’m trying to read the last book in a series I LOVE and just can’t I dont think I will ever read and unfinished series again unless I know the last book will come out soon. I had to wait a year which isnt that long but now I’ve honestly lost interest
Try short story collections. All by one author, from Agatha Christie to Stephen King, or an anthology. The book I Am I Am I Am is also good because even though it’s a memoir, it reads like a series of short stories.
Reread an old favorite. Try a new genre I don’t typically read, or just switch genres. Sometimes what’s best for me is to not force it. I’ll pursue one of my other hobbies
Honestly if I don’t want to read why force it? I go focus on other hobbies and return to reading when I’m more focused or in a different state of mind. If you have to force it, you won’t enjoy it.
I think it is a seasonal thing. I think February is a time to refresh after the initial January push. I havent been reading really. Too busy cleaning and doing KonMari to my house. I will get back to it soon. This is why my goal is 44 books. I can’t always do a book a week.
Sometimes if I’m in a funk it’s because I just need a break from reading. I read for 4 college courses and 2 reads for fun and even if you don’t read that much work and other life-type things can become overwhelming. I say just take a break from forcing it a week or longer if needed and then start looking again.
When I have a hard time with books holding my attention, I usually go through my to-be-read list and skim the previews available. The previews will usually give you the first couple of chapters, and I’ll just read the first few pages of each or the first chapter even. Sometimes one will just catch me, and just like that, I’m back out of my reader’s-block. I also try to go for shorter books with easy-to-digest writing when I’m in a slump. They’re not as intimidating and don’t require as much thought. Lastly, if I just can’t read at all, it’s usually because there’s too much stress in my life to quiet my mind, and I try to work on de-stressing in other ways before getting back to reading.
I stop reading and do something else – usually something physical. Go for a walk, a hike, wash the windows, cook something up in the kitchen. Reading, just like anything else, isn’t always the right answer for what ails ya. Step away for a bit and you’ll come back to it with a renewed sense of purpose and delight.
Read something that’s really light hearted and funny. The Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones is really easy to read. Plus anything by Scarlett Dawn
Try audiobooks maybe
I re-read an old favourite. The familiarity helps me.

Go for a walk or jog or write stuff down instead.

Audiobooks for sure.
You can do other things and just listen.
Check the local library for books on tape to try it out! ?
I re read, or I take a break. Play a game, watch a movie. Maybe just tidy your books. Don’t stress over reading.
Change locations, so outside if the weather is nice, or a park..Take your book to your local library and read there. Always good vibes.
I have moments like that. I’ll spend the time playing video or computer games instead. Maybe re-read an old favourite.
I am there right now. I am reading some non-fiction and magazines in the hopes of getting out of it.
I take time out of reading and find something else to do. Sometimes my brain needs a break.

Short stories.
Sometimes if I’m in a funk I find that I need to switch genres for awhile.
Or try a short novella.
This is when I go to one of my all-time favorites (I have a short list of about ten) and try rereading it. It usually works for me.
I usually go back to an old favorite that I know will restart my love of devouring books again <3 Best of luck!
Don’t read, do something else. It’s not supposed to be compulsory.
I try to get outside & walk; always clears my head & changes my perspective.
Reading should be relaxing, not stress you out you try a different grena
Short stories always helps me even some poetry.

Do other hobbies and the reading mojo will return eventually.
Listen to audiobooks or watch k-dramas.
What is a K-drama?

I don’t do anything. I just give up, lol. That’s why I haven’t even picked up a book since the end of November ?♂️
