I’m in the UK too Gail until recently there did used to be a UK based swap site but unfortunately it closed due to the cost and time involved of running the servers but there is still http://bookmooch.com/ which is international.
Mostly pass them on to my local used book store that buys them. Also have Little libraries in different areas that take them. Take a book, leave a book.
I keep the ones that are my favourite and that I know I will re-read ? The rest I either offer to people in my life and give to charity shops or re-selling websites ?
I could never apart from my books ? I keep and I only buy hardcover a very big IF I can’t find it in hardcover then I’ll buy softcover and I don’t kindle or audio I love the smell of old books, turning pages dust covers of art to me
Both …. depends on the impact and the author – i collect a few …I also trade with folks because I’m still old school and like to hold a book vs a tablet !
After donating about 1000 books when I moved five years ago, I decided to borrow as many books on my kindle as possible. The upshot is that I read even more.
Pass them on, give them away, I never ever lend books out, or borrow them. I feel that there is something holistic about books, can’t really explain; many people ask to borrow my books – which I am happy to do so, but in my mind, they are gone for good – which is fine! I find that they make their way back if needed, somehow and I feel better about giving them away than lending them – this is not making much sense, but I know what I mean!!!!
I used to keep them but they tend to just sit there forever more, so now I read and pass on to friends or donate, either to the library or charity shop.
Keep – like my mini children… love them, even the ones I don’t really enjoy. I think about all the effort that the author put in to getting that book on the shelf, it encourages me to read and read and read
I keep the books that I love!! Although I do share with my friends they always ask if I want it back.. lol Sometimes I say yes and others I let them go if I m not into it.
I have a box set that my husband gave me so I keep that and I have my kindle but I love the feel of a normal book. When I have done with these they are donated to the local hospital x
I like to keep them all, would love to build up a little library
I keep them all… unless I am travelling, the I often leave them where I am so someone else can enjoy, or trade them.
Take it back to the library ?
Keep! Or little free library.
I like to keep my favourite authors but one off’s i pass on or take to the charity shop 🙂
Depends what it is
Keep them, but I’m a book hoarder
I keep favourite authors and pass on the rest whether that be to charity shops or friends.
Give to others…donate.
A mixture keep, charity, give to library never throw away

I barter mine for more at a barter secondhand bookshop.
Some books are like friends, you keep them and revisit from time to time. Others have taught you all you need to know and you can pass them on.
Mostly pass on
Mine are from the library.
Pass on

I have a book case of keeps and a trunk of ones I’d pass on to others. My keeps I try to get in hard back where possible.
Depends on the book.
I always give them away.
If I think I would reread or lend out to multiple friends then I keep. If not then pass on.
I had a library room built into the new house to house them and I share with family and friends
Return them to the library. ?
Pass them on

I keep the ones that mean something and that have impacted me..others I will give to friends or goodwill.

Both
Keep if I like, bring to Goodwill if I did not like. I also borrow them out if I really liked.
Put them on the table in the lobby of my apartment building.
Give to my friends.?
Depends really. If I read it and feel I’ll never read it again, I’ll pass it, but if I love the book, I’ll keep it!
Pass on.
