Carl Haaisen, especially the novels featuring at some point, Skink. Haaisen showcases the comedic absurdity of Florida politics and policies with over-the-top characters and plot. I find it laugh-out-loud funny at times, while I am silently chuckling on the inside for the rest of the time. He is a reread go-to when I am really stressed and/or busy at work and don’t want to read something I won’t appreciate, if that makes sense…

@Tina that was The Edge of Reason, I think was the title, and I read it in 2000 maybe & will never forget my teenager daughter one night running into my room because she thought I was crying but I was laughing so hard!

Dave Barry’s Book of Bad Songs. I was reading it late at night and was laughing so hard, all alone in my living room, I’m surprised I didn’t wake anyone up. My favorite part was about the song Wildfire. You HAVE to read it. Also anything by AJ Jacobs, and The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson.
