I have never tried them. My daughter does them while she is getting ready for work. I can hear hers and don’t think I could do them. What they are reading doesn’t stay in my head. And I know I couldn’t be doing anything while I am one on. I haven’t ever been one of those people who could do two things at once.
What app are you using for your audiobook etc. I’m very interested but very confused.
I bought a Kindle ebook then bought the Audible version, but I can’t find anywhere or how on my Kindle app to turn my ebook into an Audible book. Thus expensive ‘dud’ book ?. TIA
@Anna Thanks I just thought someone had mentioned that there was a free Audible app. I did download it and my Kindle ebook didn’t show up….? Maybe I have to wait until after the 1st month and I need to pay the sub fee before it will appear. ??
Changed my whole world when i started listening to audiobooks! Makes my commute so much better than just listening to the radio and it is completely free through my library
@Andrea I feel bad for being oblivious to this …. Rather like braille for the vision impaired was originally…a lifesaver.. (although, of course, now audio has opened up their world)
I too am a new fan to audiobooks over the last 6 months. I am also addicted. I listen in the car, while cooking, doing dishes, laundry, etc. I find myself looking forward to my next opportunity to listen the same way I look forward to picking up my current book to read.
I’m a fairly new fan I only started listening to them late last year. I use mostly Hoopla through the library. I also have Libby though I don’t think I’ve listened to any on there yet.
The apps I have are overdrive, Libby, free audiobooks, audiobooks, audiobooks NOW, ebook search, kobo books, snap reads, instaread, RBDIGITAL, HI books, google play, audiobooks ++, and about 15 others. Some you pay for others have free downloads, some are free trials for 30 days. You get the point.

@Helene I use Libby App. I was curious and am glad I tried it. I listened while cleaning house and making dinner !! I just use my iPad.
@Helene and its free ?
@Tamara
So even tho I bought my book from Amazon Kindle store, if I download this Libby App, it would magically appear?
TIA
@Helene, you can also download the specific Audible app and your audiobooks will appear automatically there.
@Anna
What do you mean by ‘specific’ Audible app.
Is this the. FEE $$$/mth one.??
I’m very technology challenged..
TIA
@Helene Ah yes, I do pay a subscription so perhaps that’s not the best option if you don’t want to do that.
@Anna
Thanks

I use overdrive and listen to books while at work.
I drive about 30,000 miles a year and don’t know what I would do without my audiobooks!
I love them. I use audible

@Desiree
Is that a Library App? (Libby App)
If so, is the genres restricted at all?
@Helene yes. My library offers Libby and Hoopla. There are no restrictions that I have found.
@Desiree
So they have Adult ‘Steamy’ type novels ?
@Helene yep! This is a few examples of what Hoopla currently has
Libby
And they have all of Lorelei James Rough Rider series on Hoopla.
@Desiree are you able to screen shot the hoopla icon. As the only one I found is Hoopla. Team encourage ment and motivation. ?
@Desiree
I’m in Australia, would that make a difference still can’t find it. Found 2 other Business ones tho ?
That may make a difference.
@Helene try this? https://www.amazon.com.au/Hoopla-Digital/dp/B00JMRGQHI
They are awesome!
I love them. Bought a shower speaker so I can listen even when I shower!
If it weren’t for audiobooks I’d never have overcome the worst struggles with my dyslexia nor been able to enjoy reading as my career has taken off.
@Andrea I feel bad for being oblivious to this …. Rather like braille for the vision impaired was originally…a lifesaver.. (although, of course, now audio has opened up their world)
Just getting all mine recorded. They are popular compared to kindle etc. Seems to be the new thing ?
Anyone who wants to try out audiobooks with no commitment to buy, try YouTube ?
There are so many apps to use for audiobooks it will blow you away. Most have free books some you need to pay for the new releases.
I love them too, listen to them through Libby
