I’m in need of a GREAT audiobook. Have been listening to too many duds lately. Would prefer something fiction and not fantasy or sci if. TIA!!

I agree with this.
It’s YA, but I HIGHLY recommend Echo as an audiobook. One of my favorites ever.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
The Last Mrs Parrish
I listened to Lilac Girls and The Last Mrs. Parrish. Both were great audiobooks. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts and am picky but those two are great.
Anything by Joshilyn Jackson. She is awesome and her books are engaging.
The light between oceans was excellent as an audio book.
These are good suggestions, but after “before we were yours” I now listen to a sample before downloading.
One of my all time favorite audio books was The Green Mile.
All the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series are good on audio as well as Dead Ringer, Sweetwater Creek, Dirty Blonde, Nora Nora, The Appeal, Off Season, The Gatehouse, The Help, The Lion, Plum Island, The Heist, The Rosie Project, The Chase: Fox and OHare, The Girl on A Train, At Home with Madame Chic. Yes!!!
Cold Sassy Tree
The You before Me series by Jojo Moyes are great
I’ve loved listening to Crazy Rich Asians. I feel like it’s been my gateway into giving audiobooks a chance.
I just finished it and it was the first audiobook I didn’t like. Not sure if it was the accents or what.
Oh interesting. I think that’s the reason why I like it so much.
And One Last Thing by Molly Harper
Unwind by neal schusterman. I’m not really into audiobooks, but this one was great! It says young adult, but it’s a pretty adult dystopian type book in my opinion. I loved it
November 9 and It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, The Orphan Train, Before we were yours, The Apartment are all really good. I love anything by Jojo Moyes. The Lilac Girls was probably my favorite book of all time
The Leavers
The Extraordinary Life if Sam Hill, anything by Denise Grover Swank.
Crazy Rich Asians … so much easier to keep track of characters Since the reader uses different “voices” depending on character.
This is true. Not clue why I didn’t like it
Listening to One Hundred Names right now and it is really great!
I also really liked Sourdough and The Wreckage and The Ticket.
I just finished “I’ll be Your Blue Sky” by Maria De Los Santos and really loved it. I listened on a “Playaway”mp3 I borrowed from the Library.
The stolen marriage is on sale on audible. I’m only 8 chapters in but I am hooked
I just picked it up on the 2 for 1 sale! That’s my next listen!
@Kamesa I also got The Midwife’s Confession. What other book did you get?
@Liz A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson.
@Kamesa hmm I have read The Opposite of Everyone and The Almost Sisters… the 2 for 1 sale is so tempting.

Born a Crime
Hope Never Dies–Obama/Biden Mystery. Very funny!
The Irish Doctor series is great!
@Judy,
The Runner by Patrick Lee. I guess it is kind of science fiction, but in the lightest most realistic way possible. It was fast paced and grabbed me right from the beginning.
The Midwife’s Revolt by Jodi Daynard. Historical fiction
Middlesex

The audio for Guernsey is AH-maz-ing.
Ready Player One and Artemis!
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese & When Nietzsche Wept, by Irvin D. Yalom
Cutting for Stone is one of my all-time favorite books. I read it (before I got into audiobooks) but gave an audio version to my dad because he has a long commute. It was really outside the genre of book that he prefers (spy/thriller stuff), so he was reluctant to listen to it, but when he did he called me when he got home one day and asked “what did you do to me? I’m sitting in front of the house and can’t go in because the book is so good.” That’s how good it is. I’ve been meaning to listen to it since then so I can experience it with all of the accents.
It’s one of the few books that I read, then listened to, then reread. The audio is SO well done & the medicine is incredibly accurate. I emailed Dr. Verghese & told him how much I love it & he REPLIED! He thanked me for my kind words. ❤️
@Terry OMG – I’m totally fan-girling now. He replied??? He practiced medicine in El Paso, which is where I’m from, so he’s always been on my radar as a local. How cool!
Yeah, I about died when he graciously replied. Totally love him. He actually teaches at Stanford School of Medicine & I emailed him there about 2007-8, whenever the book first came out. ❤️

A Gentleman in Moscow
The Goldfinch or The Storyteller. Amazing narrators and accents!
Also! Any of Fredrik Bachman (Man Named Ove, Brit-Marie Was Here, My Grandmother Told Me to Tell You She’s Sorry) are fabulous as audio. I think it helps to get the humor of the book that might be lost in translation.
