The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr. narrated by LeVar Burton and MLK Jr. himself. He diagnosed the three things ailing the USA, which continue to this day. It’s so inspiring to listen to – because his leadership is so far-sighted and moral.
I’m hoping to use my Half Priced Books gift card I got for Christmas to snag a copy of Crawdads since there are 132 people ahead of me on the library waiting list. 😐
Hard to narrow it down to just 1 because I read some good ones this year: Every Note Played (Less Genova) Heart Shaped Box (Joe Hill) East of Eden (John Steinbeck) And I’ve read most of the Dexter Series this year (book 2 being my favorite)
Rereading Mitford series by Jan Karon. Got 2 done in 2018 along with all my other reading. Must say those stood out. Made me feel inspired. Very simple but so am I
Fave of the year is Could Be Worse by James Stevenson. But that’s a kids book. Yellow Packard by Ace Collins squeaks out as fave novel. I like the period episodic nature of the life of a fancy car and it’s effect on owners.
The Hate U give , the immortalists , the outsider, small great things , the good girl, salt houses , little fires everywhere. Eleanor oliphant and after Anna.
@Marie we absolutely loved it. It’s incredible true story none of us had ever heard of. We talked about it for a good 2 hrs!! It is a tough book to get through but well worth it.

After reading Every Note Played, I’m definitely planning on read more of her books. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Still Alice too.

My number 1 was redeeming love by Francine rivers
@Laura…I really loved that book too!
Maybe it’s because I read it very recently, but I loved “Educated”!
@Kerrie I loved AJ. Her next novel, Young Jane Young, had equally endearing characters.
@Sharon Thanks! I will check that one out for sure!
@Kerrie I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Ignore the reviews. It is not a Bill and Monica book!
