@Vanessa me too! The six of crows characters were too desperate and plotting and miserable for me to like them as much as I did the characters from the grisha trilogy
You dont. I didnt realize the grieshaverse was a thing til i read Six of Crows. On a side note super excited i meet Leigh a week from tomorrow in Denver for the King of Scars tour ?
I tried reading SoC and couldn’t do it. I got too confused with all the terminology and city names and characters. I was advised to read Grisha first and I loved it. I am reading SoC now and it is so much easier with having read Grisha first.
I’m currently half way through crooked kingdom. I loved six of crows a lot. I haven’t read the grisha books yet but I’m really enjoying this duo. But I will get to them at some point. ?
I read six of crows first and it didn’t affect me. The only thing is there are some characters from the grisha trilogy in six of crows that you won’t recognize unless you’ve read the trilogy, but you don’t need to know them
i’d actually recommend reading Six of Crows first because (personally) I believe it to be the better of the two. Reading Grisha as a prequel kind of novel was far more enjoyable that way.
I’ve heard there are some easter eggs if you read Grisha first, but I’ve read both Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom and enjoyed it very much. I didn’t feel I was missing anything.
I didn’t and I enjoyed the book a great deal. ?
Not necessarily. There’s some background information you get from the Grisha trilogy, but SoC can be read without having read them.
I didn’t and I wish I had. It would have made a little more sense and the crossover a bit more enjoyable.
I did and contrary to popular opinion I actually preferred The Grisha Verse trilogy although I loved Six of Crows too lol

Yay, you are the first person I have come across that also preferred the Grisha trilogy. Very excited for King of Scars ?

@Chance I was going to go, but I chickened out
@Michelle theres still time! Meet the Griesha queen!
@Chance she’ll be here next Saturday where I live, and I am really debating it. I preordered the book though, so I am not sure what I’m going to do.
Nope. I have read the six of crows duology and still haven’t read the grisha trilogy

I don’t think it’s necessary, but it could help. I prefer SoC but I did enjoy The Grisha Trilogy
I read SoC and really enjoyed it without reading Grisha will definitely be reading Grisha once I have finished crooked kingdom ?
I don’t know what either of those are, but yeah probably
I didn’t read the Trilogy first, but thoroughly enjoyed the Duology that started with Six of Crows. Hopefully you will as well ☺
I would read the Grisha trilogy first. At the very least to have a fuller sense of the world before starting a companion series.

I didn’t read it first and it wasn’t a problem. I just boughtthe Grisha Trilogy.
You don’t need to read the Grisha series first
I’ve seen SoC mentioned a lot recently, what are people’s thoughts? What genre would you say it is?
YA Fantasy
@Kensley thank you ?
I would recommend reading it before SOC 100%. And to the above question SOC is amazing… def YA genre.
My friend sent Six of Crows as a gift, and I read it without the other set… now on Crooked Kingdom… I am thinking of reading the Grisha later though
Personally I’d recommend you read the Grisha Trilogy first and then the Six of Crows duology – it’s the best way to avoid spoilers ?
