That how I do it! I find it very satisfying. Especially when an author doesn’t hate us and keeps all books the same size. (Who hurt you James Patterson!?)
how about by Dewey Decimal system? lots of books have multiple genres it’s difficult to categorize them.. I organize my ebooks by Author, series, then year
I do a rough status, genre, author sort. So books I’ll keep forever are first, then YA, then memoir/non-fiction, then general fiction TBR. On a separate shelf in a different room I have books that I’m ready to give away
Topic/genre, alphabetical, i.e., English fiction alphabetically by author, then American, French German, etc., then non-fiction by topic alphabetically by author. Only thing that works for me.
I mostly do it by author, but i don’t bother with alphabetically. I know my shelves well enough to not have to bother. I do have one shelf that is mostly dedicated to books by those I inherited by my father and since it’s a deep shelf, the lower shelf cases my record collection. That’s a collection of my father’s records, my mother’s since she no longer listens to records, and my own.

I do by author and buy series. So the first book of the series always goes first.
mine are by author than series
No, I just let them fall where they may, lol.
Mine are by author and then by serie
how about by Dewey Decimal system?

I organize my ebooks by Author, series, then year

I organize by color!
I organize by genre and then size.
Genre,
I organize mine by author.
I do
Both – genre and then alphabetical
I just stack mine wherever they’ll fit.
On the floor, chairs, bed. bathroom>>>in boxes, in bags>>>I need more room.?
I put them by author
That’s what I do! And then by publication date (rather than alphabetically).
I just do mine Alphabetically
I just organize alphabetically by author
Genre then alphabetical by Author, Series that’s my order.

Some authors cross genre’s so that doesn’t always help. I just do it randomly these days.
Mine are organized Read and Not Read. Oh and if they fit on the shelf.?
That’s what I do
That’s how I sort mine.

Thats what I do
What? Organize? Hmmmm…. novel idea! ? Seriously, my books are organized by size. Except my series – they are all together in order.
By color. Prettier that way. ?
Just like the library (seriously) in my library. Non-fiction alphabetical by subject, then authour, fiction by sub-genre, then authour.
Ugh….I have 94 pages to go through. I wanna do genre and then author
Stand alones- genre, author, alphabetically. Series- genre, author, alphabetically/chronologically.
I organize mine by “hmm how can I make this fit”
Mines by author I used to have random colour but most of my books are black or white and it didn’t look decent
