Just blindly trust me. It is about an australian fugitive who forges a new zealand passport and arrives in 70s Mumbai, India. ( this is a semi autobiography, the writer was in an indian prison and got his manuscript tore twice by the local policemen before it being published.) So here in mumbai he lives in a slum, gets involved with local underworld and also goes to afghanistan to fight a kind of civil war. the book is filled with street philosophy, spirituality very beautifully woven with the pace and mystery of thriller books. It is profound and at the same time entertaining.
Shantaram by gregory david roberts.
