Honestly, the third book kind of ruined the series for me but I really loved it until that point. So it’s hard to say..
Pass. The third book is really, really bad. Read the Hunger Games instead.
It’s actually not fantasy, it’s dystopian. And I loved it. The first book to me is one of those books that can get anybody into reading

I actually like Dystopian Sci-fi which is what the Divergent series is. I did enjoy the series. Not so dramatic as the movies.
The first book is magic. The third book is tragic. The terribleness of the third book will break your heart.

Books are good. Movie pissed me off. The book pisses you off st the end of the third one. But I don’t think that makes it a bad book. Just not what you expected to happen.

Read it earlier this year. If I had to do it again, I’d politely decline.
I predicted almost everything about it, but I forced my way through. It’s fairly “meh” IMO.

I liked Divergent (the first book) but IMO it was similar to Hunger Games and honestly a little like Matched and I found them both to be better.
The first and second we’re good but the third one was really boring and just bad. The hunger games is way better!

I did not like the ending of the series, but I know at lot of people who love it.
I loved it i wasnt happy with what happened in the erd book but still good , it all had the right amount if romance (it wasnt mooshy) action, adventure, sneakiness

Not all of the ending tied together for me. Too many holes, not particularly logical. Felt rushed.
No for sure not I get she was trying to convey she finally was sacrificing herself for the greater good not just for no reason or something but I hate it, it’s stupid and I really hate the short story where four gets with her best friend. Like really????

There are much better dystopian books. They were sometimes entertaining but predictable.
The first was the best! However, I did not agree with the last book or the movies after the first one, but the choice is really up to you.

Loved the first, got bored with the 2nd. I prefer the hunger games.
The novellas are the best part of the series. I couldn’t finish it though ? I am still to read the last book :p Maybe someday :3

I like dystopian fiction, but not this series. It was almost as bad as maze runner. Read the parable of the talents and parable of the sower by Octavia Butler

First, they’re more dystopian than fantasy. Second, they’re on my to read list, but I don’t know that I’ll ever get around to reading them since I’m not a huge fan of dystopian. My sister really liked them, though. Maybe I’ll try the audiobooks sometime. If you do read them, let us know what you think of them.
read them!! i liked this series more than hunger games. the characters are more relatable in my opinion. i didn’t know what a book hangover was until i finished this series…i didn’t pick up another book for a long time after finishing this because i was so invested!
Divergent is a fairly good book, but the second two go downhill very fast. The third one was straight up bad. Now, this is my opinion, and perhaps I read the books at the wrong time in my life, so no hate! Haha!
It seems to be a common opinion. When multiple people say the same thing I tend to believe it. Maybe I’ll start hunger games instead and not ruin the rest of the divergent series for myself.
