Need recommendations for the flight and travel! Love Kristin Hannah and Diane Chamberlain type books
I am leaving for Paris on Thursday! <3 I am looking for some recommendations for the flight and travel! I love realistic fiction and psychological thrillers. A few recent favorites have been An American Marriage, The Great ALone, Orphan Train, Fates and Furies, Summer Sisters, Faithful, etc. Love Kristin Hannah and Diane Chamberlain type books :)
As bright as heaven. I stumbled upon it at the library in the new books section. Historical fiction taking place during world war I in Philadelphia.
It’s not a reading recommendation I’m making but if you are in Paris make sure you see these two places as a book-lover : the second-hand book sellers on the embankments of the Seine (they are so typical they are trying to be registered in the list of the World Heritage sites) and the bookshop called Shakespeare’s Company…
Yes! Both on my list!!
@Diana great! Enjoy your stay there, then!
Have you read Chamberlain’s last book, The Stolen Marriage? It was very good.
Yes read it!
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. Great book!
Just finished Love and Ruin by same author. Not set in Paris but I enjoyed it!
Before i go to sleep, S J Watson.

About 1/2 before sunset, grab a bottle of wine and a baguette and go to Sacre Coeur. Sit on the steps and watch the city light up.
Don’t have a book recommendation, but have an awesome trip. 🙂

The Paris Effect by KSR Burns. A pretty light read but lots of stuff about Paris!
Sarah’s Key is set largely in Paris, but does take place during WW2, so is an emotional read. Great book though.
The Paris Wife would be awesome
Luncheon of the Boating Party by Susan Vreeland, especially if you’re into art or Renoir
The Kite Runner
Read The Paris Wife realistic fiction about Hemingway and his first wife in Paris. Wonderful!
All the Light We Cannot See (one of my all-time favorites); A Moveable Feast
On my first trip to Paris, I took The Painted Girls, which is set in Paris and about Degas. I loved having something thematically appropriate while I was there, lol. ?
Lonesome Dove is wonderful! I’m not a fan of Westerns but this is so good. And at over 700 pages will take you a long way across the ocean…
Ghosted.
Since you’re going to Paris, try The Perfume Collector byKathleen Tessaro.
