Duende: A Journey in Search of Flamenco by Jason Webster.
Don’t know if you’re into Dan Brown, but his latest, Origin, is set in Spain. Lots of descriptions of locations.
I second this. His books are so descriptive of the locations/history. I read Inferno, set in Florence while I was there then went on an “Inferno Tour” that takes you around to all of the locations in the book. It was fun!
I agree. I read this book recently. It left me wanting to visit the many places mentioned. I enjoyed some of the interesting tidbits of information about some of the amazing places. I was ready to book a plane ticket while I was reading this book.
Winter in Madrid
For whom the bell tolls

This is a great read.
The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway, Origin by Dan Brown, Don Quixote by Cervantes

The Pigeon Girl by Merce Rodereda!
Oh! I don’t know that one! I need to get more familiar with her.
The Time In Between but Maria Duenas is one of my very favorite books. The translation is perfect. Spain also made a miniseries of the book that you can watch on Hulu.
Origin by Dan Brown
Dan Brown- Origin.
For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway,
The Basque History of the World by Mark Kurlansky
The Blind Man of Seville by Robert Wilson. ( a contemporary mystery set in Spain, first of a series)

Death in the afternoon by Hemingway…. bullfighting
The sun also rises by Hemingway
So many good recommendations! Thank you all!
The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly. You will want to keep on reading the Harry Bosch series after that. ?
Please choose The Shadow of the Wind! That way I can live vicariously through you. 🙂 (I dream of going to Barcelona because of that book.)
