All politics aside – “The President is Missing” (Patterson and Clinton) is a good mystery. “The Magpie Murders” (Horowitz), “Say Nothing” (Parks), “Bluebird, Bluebird” (Locke). William Kent Krueger has some really good mysteries (except Ordinary Grace – general fiction), Greg Iles is always fun.
And if you want a little humor – a great one to to just have hanging around (or throw in a tote bag for sitting in waiting rooms) – Janet Evonovich is always entertaining!
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson is so good! Also, The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter, Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney, The Good Samaritan by John Marrs. All of these are a little more “psychological thrillers” I’d say, but sooo good!
Lisa Jackson,Tami Hoag,Kay Hooper are some really good thriller authors.. also Michael Connelly and David Baldacci are good.. all write stories you won’t want to quit til the end..?
The Skull Mantra by Eliot Pattison…The Tenth Justice by Brad Meltzer…Los Alamos by Joseph Kanon…In The Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Fleming…Track of the Cat by Nevada Barr…The Quantum Spy by David Ignatius…At Risk by Stella Rimington…
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I’m currently on book #3 and I can’t put it down. They’re really good stories. There’s 15 books so far in the series.
Twisted Prey by John Sandford, Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz, The Dry by Jane Harper, Two Kinds of Truth by Michael Connelly, Fallout by Sara Paretsky…
I enjoy mysteries more so than thrillers. Recently I’ve discovered the Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James mystery series. I’m currently up to book 10, having averaged one book from the series every three days over recent weeks.
White Night by J.j. holt

How about Karin Slaughter or Chelsea Cain? Those are some awesome suspense books that really keep you up at night!
Karin’s Will Trent series? Do I need to read it in order?
Patricia Cornwall – the Kay Scarpetta series. Ann Cleeves – the Shetland series.
And if you want a little humor – a great one to to just have hanging around (or throw in a tote bag for sitting in waiting rooms) – Janet Evonovich is always entertaining!

If we were villains by M.L.Rio. I loved it!
I just put it on my TBR
@Muffy Totally worth it, in my opinion. Even if you’re not a Shakespeare fan, you’ll still enjoy it! 🙂
Patricia Cornwell is amazing.
11/22/63 by Stephen King
The Alan Bradley Flavia de Luce series. More along the mystery lines, not thrillers.

Read it! Such a great book!
Defending Jacob by William Landay

Put a hold on it!
Ruth Rendell, aka Barbara Vine, psycho thrillers

The Death of Mrs Westaway.
I really wanna read it! But it has so many holds! I might break down and just buy lol.

Psychological thrillers are great too!
I prefer psychological thrillers. Emily Short, any other suggestions.
Ruth Ware Books
I love her!
The woman in the window.
Had me hooked! I read it in like 5 hours.
The Woman in the Window — couldn’t put it down.
I’m still waiting on my copy!
I started Don’t Let Go and it’s boring me. It’s was a recommendation. I’m stopping it. I have The Woman in the Window and I’m hoping it’ll be better.
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
Loved it!
I thought this book was amazing!! I thought about it for days after finishing it.
Anything by Louise Penny, Elizabeth George, Tana French. Or some oldies – Ian Rankin, Reginald Hill, Ruth Rendell.
Go for any Tess Gerritsen’s Isles and Rizzolis series or Stephen King’s Bill Hodges trilogy
I read a lot of mysteries, but recently came across Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. 5 star for me.
He has another mystery series but my fav is Ordinary Grace.
Iron Lake, William Kent Kruger
I feel like his mysteries are good.. But he gave us his best with Ordinary Grace..

Just finished the couple next door. I enjoyed it.
These are the last 4 books ive read and really liked all of them. Especially Behind Closed Doors and The Life We Bury.
Still Missing by Chevy Stevens
I enjoy mysteries more so than thrillers. Recently I’ve discovered the Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James mystery series. I’m currently up to book 10, having averaged one book from the series every three days over recent weeks.
I have enjoyed this series from the beginning. I find it a great read for British mysteries and meanwhile the author lives in Texas. ?
