Looking for some recommendations
Depression/ anxiety/ OCD
Fiction or nonfiction fiction.
Code Name Verity, Black Dove White Raven, Flygirl, Front Lines series, The Tombs, Asylum series— those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head!
From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon! It’s on KU and free to listen! So good!
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
The book thief, the Maggie Hope series by Susan Elia Macneal, Turtles All The Way Down, Number the Stars (aimed at younger kids but a great book)
Can’t help with the first two…..
WWII • no suggestion
Holocaust • no suggestion
Witches • Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman
Asylums • Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen
Anxiety/OCD • House Of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
Lilac Girls is about WWII, it was one of the best books I have read in a long time!
WW2: Hearts of Resistance. Sooooooooooooo good. Historical fiction about basically women spies and an underground railroad type situation. Amazing book.
Anxiety: Eliza and Her Monsters
WWII–Flygirl by Sherri L Smith
Holocaust–Resistance by Jennifer A Nielsen
Witches–Witchlands series by Susan Dennard
Witches and WW2 a secret history of witches
Paper Girl by Cindy R. Wilson for anxiety.
A challenge for all of you would be to find a single book that matches all of these !
@Jordan that would be my autobiography
Witches- the wicked deep
I’m gonna start
The tattooist of auschwitz next month it’s supposed to be great
