My mind goes only to the Mayfair witches
As it should and from there the werewolves and the vampires, not to mention ghosts.
Christian Read writes a good series. Only 3 books.
Hard to get in hardcopy though.
But dark but i really enjoyed them.
A lot.
The Women of the otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong springs to mind-this has all sorts of creatures-witches, werewolves, necromancer (or in a few of the book it is a woman who can talk to the dead), demons and vampires (but less vampires than the other creatures). The first book is Bitten (this one is about werewolves).
Moreover I would also recommend the YA urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare-the first book is called City of Bones.
@Becky I love the women of the otherworld series! I’m looking for a lot more like this. Thanks for the tip otherwise though, would’ve been an awesome read?
I just started this series. I’m on the second book. <3
Julia Vedder Did you read the YA series too? Darkest power and Dark Rising? I actually read those first before finding out about women of the Otherworld. They are set in the same universe and expand on the supernaturals.
@Cherrie I did! Everything but the Omens and legends series’ so far. Haven’t really gotten into omens sadly, nor the legends series:( love otherworld though, easily my favorite series of books!
Dresden files by jim butcher
@Abdussalam yeah I’ve promised another user here that I’ll be giving this a second chance, so it’s actually on my tbr list at the top in second place. Thank you?
@Julia enjoy ?
@Abdussalam this is such a great series!
@MaryAnn good to know because i only read two first books
@Abdussalam keep going. Butcher’s other stuff is pretty good, too.
Etched in bone by Anne bishop
Great title! TBR pile.
Also if you have yet to read Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy which stays with A discovery of witches , then Shadow of Night and finally the Book of Life you should definitely read them.
@Becky I’m intrigued by A discovery of witches, really should give this a chance I think. I just hope it’s not as gloomy as the first two episodes of the tv series was!
I have to admit I haven’t seen the tv series yet-I’ve only read the books.
TV could kill a lunar landing.
The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon.
The Dorina Basarab series by Karen Chance is also good-it is about a dhampir (a half vampire)-the first book is Midnight’s Daughter.
Hush hush. It is about angels
A court of thorns and roses
Love Sara j Maas!! The kings Assassin yes!!
Kate Daniels series is good. Mercy Thompson is also entertaining.
I’ll just give you some of my favourite UF authors: Helen Harper, KF Breene, McKenzie Hunter, Ella Summers, Linsey Hall, Emma L Adams, Marina Finlayson.
Gail Carringers various series. just love her.
I love the Sookie Stackhouse book’s by Charlaine Harris.
Fallen by Lauren Kate-and the rest of the Fallen series are good. (The full version however is terrible).
And Strange Angels by Lili St Crow (this is the first of a series of books).
Elizabeth Hunter’s Elemental series.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone
@Orion by Laini Taylor. I have loved everything she’s written so far.
The Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep. Stray by Rachel Vincent.
Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter Also Mercy Thompson series.by Patricia Briggs
Shana Abe does a series about shape shifting dragons, it starts with The Smoke Thief. If you like vampires romance Christine Feehan dark series is pretty good. The later books get pretty racy but I like her writing style.
I started the Iron Druid series and it was really great. I’m on book 2. Also the Discovery of Witches trilogy by Deborah Harkness.
Juliet Blackwell also does a witches series that is a lot of fun. The 1st one is secondhand spirits. I listened to them on audio and really enjoyed them. She inherits a second hand shop and buys vintage clothing, which comes haunted as you can imagine. It’s a mystery witchcraft series.
@Serena sounds fun! Added to my list, thank you!:)
Harry Dresden series
Maggie shayne
just started the Incryptid series by Seanine McGuire. loving it !
Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff
Tanya Huff that’s who I was trying to recall… love her books!!

@Jennifer That’s a whole new tbr list right there, thank you!!?
@Julia you’re welcome!! This is pretty much my favorites list.
Great list.
Jennifer Ashley ‘s shifter series. Love them. She creates a whole ethos and keeps it fresh with each book.
Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series – Werewolves, Urban Fantasy with very strong female leading character. Book #1 is Moon Called.
House of Night novels!!! OMG they’re the best. I would spend the very last of my money, scrounge up change, just to buy the next book when I completed one.. seriously. They’re that good!! I believe they’re by P.C. Cast.
House of Night series by PC and Kristin Cast
Shiver series by Maggie Stiefvater
Vampire Academy series by Richelle Meas
Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series. I don’t care much for fantasy, but I love this series
@Janae. Agreed!! ‘Moon Called’ is book #1. I’d read them in order
I’ve got all the books up until “River Marked”. And I always love to restart the series because the first is the best. And after that they just get better. I always forget how much I really enjoyed them until I reread them
The fever series by Karen Moening
seconded
Anything Karen Moning or Sharilyn Kenyon!!
Trial by fire series was good!
Anything by Seanan McGuire! Her Toby Daye and InCryptid series are AMAZING
I just finished 2 books in a trilogy (3rd not out yet) by Vivian Shaw and I loved them. Strange Practice and Dreadful Company.
The Others series by Anne Bishop.
Forever Evermore by Scarlett Dawn
Any of Charlaine Harris’s series. Although I did love the Sookie Stackhouse series aka True Blood, her Midnight Texas series has really interesting characters
