Kate Daniel series by Ilona Andrews. One of the best. I really liked The Hollow series about Rachel Daniels by Kim Harrison. The series is finished, well worth the ride. Jennifer Estep’s Spider series. Nalini Singh has two series. I wasn’t sure I would like them, but both are good. Seanan McGuire and Benedict Jacka both have a great series.
These may be a bit more speculative fiction or urban sci fi rather than fantasy, but I really loved Marcus Sakey’s Brilliance trilogy and his book Afterlife.
Patricia Briggs, C.E. Murphy, Kim Harrison, The Weather Warden series, The Iron Druid Series, The Women of the Otherworld, Kitty the Werewolf series, Molly Harper, Charlaine Harris – read her anthologies and you can find lots of good authors in them, Seanan McGuire, Katie McAllister, Faith Hunter
The Dresden Files
Read them actually. I need Peace Talks to come out.
Iron Fey series…
Oh, good choice!
How about the Mercy Thompson series?
Two series, Parasol Protectorate (historical), Boundary Magic (modern)
Mortal instruments
Read those as well as Dark Artifices. Couldnt get into the prequel series though.
Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter
The Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep. First book is Spider’s Bite.
Jacqueline Carey! Specifically the Agent of Hel series.
A lot of people rate China Mieville. I’ve read a couple and didn’t quite click with them (not enough dragons or barbarians! but they are clever.

Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series was good. (Not as great as Dresden, but enjoyable).

This genre is my current book crack of choice. I’m revising my list with all of these helpful suggestions.
Jacquelyn Carey’s Agents of Hel series

It’s my favorite genre
Charles de Lint from the northwest has written many and he does a fabulous job.
