It was tough getting through the first maybe 1/3, but I’m so glad I finished Hamilton. Great writer on a great topic. And helped really understand the musical.
@Sherry I had originally only planned to read Chernow’s book but reading it made me curious to follow it with the autobiography. If you only choose one definitely go with Chernow, but it’s a great story and I just wasn’t ready to end it yet.
Read Alexander Hamilton by Chernow and really liked it, but it me mad that I will never understand the complexities of money. But the personal side of Hamilton life was fascinating. .
I am reading Washington. So interesting. Until the Outlander series I never knew the American Revolution went on for so long, Guess I was not paying attention in History class!
My husband just recently read and and loved it!
Phenomenal book. The recorded version is also fantastic.
It’s on my TBR pile! (Which, thanks to this group, is now forty billion books long…….)
And I keep buying!

Loved it! I usually don’t read that genre, but couldn’t put it down.
We listened to it on car trips. It is good.
My husband is reading it, I might pick it up after him as I very much enjoyed Hamilton.
I enjoyed Washington and Hamilton so much. Learned a lot! Grant is def on the TBR.
Not yet still reading Hamilton.

I tried to finish the book before i saw the musical did not succeed. My husband did complete but he only does audio books.
I’m still wading thru Hamilton, but Grant is next!
It took me 4 months but it was excellent! I’m reading the autobiography now
Does it seem like you didn’t need to read both? If so, which are you preferring?

@Mika thanks for getting back!
Reading it now, and enjoying it.
I started listening to it on audio book. It’s a lot easier to get through it while I’m in the car!
My husband went that route too….
I also am listening to it in the car. Learning so much about the Civil War that I didn’t previously know. Definitely recommend this.
I think I will wait for the rock opera to come to Broadway. ?

Just listened to audiobook of ‘Wilson’ by A. Scott Berg. It’s an interesting biography, I learned a lot.
Din’t read Grant but recently read Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard. How this man suffered. Also listened to it from Audible.
Long but worthwhile! Eye-opening!
