Just curious…when do people make time to read? I usually read right before bed or on flights/etc.

When ever I can get away with it
when I drive and when im falling asleep, when im poo and when I shower and cook and and and all the time!
So where do you live? For some reason, I find myself hoping we don’t drive on the same roads…?
@Allison audio
I read for 1.5 hours before bed for sure, and then whenever I’m not doing something I can’t do and read like work. Usually listen to audible while cooking, and when it’s time to actually go to sleep. I read more than watch TV.
On the can
Meal break at work, before bed, before getting up in the morning, any minute I can fit it in really.
If it is a great book, every chance I get! Brushing my teeth, bathing, cooking, lunch break and hours I should be sleeping ?
I find it hard to fit in the time with 3 small kids and always being busy! So I resorted to audiobooks which I listen to while I clean, cook, play with the kids, shower, when I go to bed etc.
@Moragan Totally makes sense.
I listen to audiobooks at work. I try to read at night, but my child usually interrupts me
It helps being nocturnal ?
Fellow readers are either nocturnal like me or youāre all posting from distant shores ?
I have a super boring receptionist job that gives me loads of time to read. I also read before bed.
@Lunchie Nice!
Awesome job that allows you to read!
My kindle is in my pocket, so whenever Iām wearing pants I read any time that I might be waiting more than 1 minute
I read on and off throughout the day and in the evening before bed
I use public transit so usually read while waiting for or on buses and sometimes for a little while before bed. I’ve also started listening to audiobooks while doing indoor cycling.
night shift + kindle/phone is the best idea I ever had ?
@Andreas Nice!
I basically read in my free time. It’s my only real hobby. I have a full time career and 2 little boys. But once they are in bed at 730 I cuddle on the couch with a book for 4-5 hours. I usually read a book a night this way.
Every spare moment I have. I hardly ever watch TV. Plus I have insomnia so that helps. ?
While I nurse my daughter to sleep, and waiting to pick her up from school
I do at least 30 mins before bed, and any other time I can grab during the day. But Iām adamant about those 30 mins
@Zachary Been trying to do the same thing.
My work let’s me listen to audiobooks while I’m there so I can grab 8 hrs there I also try to read before bed.
What do you do? And how long do I have to do to school to get a job like that!?! š
@Mike I’m a custodian at a school so high school diploma or ged
I get up at 5.30 so I can crack in a couple of hours every day
I typically read before I go to sleep at night.
Since that wasn’t really enough time for me, I started reading audiobooks. I used to have a half hour commute to work each way, so it was great. But now I work from home, so I lost out on a lot of reading time. So now I read in the shower using a waterproof bluetooth speaker and my smartphone. š
The great thing about using a smartphone is that I can read in the shower and in the car both via bluetooth and it keeps my place since it’s the same device for both. š
I’m retired so I tend to read 22/7. No, I don’t sleep much, too many books to read!
Yep I’m the same. I read before I go to sleep. I often fall asleep reading lol.. otherwise whenever I’ve got a spare few minutes I’ll pick up my book
On flights me too lol the only time not online
I get to work about an hour early and read in the staff room before starting.
I had read for so long just before bed that now…i pick up a book and just start yawning…???
usually the last couple hours of the evening. my pets know; the little dogs all curl up beside me on the couch, and within a few minutes my cat is there on the arm. i stopped reading for a long time, just got caught up in other things. now that i’m back, it’s like a reunion with a dear, old friend.
Driving and work
I only get to read on my lunch break, which is about an hour. I work twelve hour shifts and have a hour drive home.
Play audio while driving
I have the children of Hurin by Tolkien, and sir Christopher lee reads it.
