Disappointed. Not exactly the same in plot but strong female lead in spirit with a war historical background, try Maria Dueñas’ The time in between. The character development arch is very good. Just finished reading her new 4th novel (out last month) and it’s very good too, The Captain’s daughters and I would call it her 2nd best in a rank.
My personal order: The time in between, her debut, I find the best, then The captain’s daughters, her most recent. Third position for A vineyard in Spain/ La templanza (her 3rd book) and fourth for The heart has its reasons/Misión Olvido (her second book)
I liked reading about women as spies. Years ago I read a couple of volumes of a biography of a woman spy and enjoyed it. The thing I didn’t like about The Alice Network is that the ending ties everything up nearly. Not realistic at all.
Loved it — especially when I realized that many of the events were true.
Loved it!
It’s one of my favorite books!
Loved it! A great read about WW1 and how spies received and transferred information.

What is number one?

I thoroughly appreciated the WW1 part of the story, but found the post-WW2 part of the book predictable. Overall, I’m still glad I read it.
Liked it a lot
