Don’t think so … I always go chronologically but I’ve found I’m jumping around with SK – The Dark Tower books are a series so I’d read them in order and Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers and End of Watch in that order but otherwise just dip in ???
No order at all. Stephen King suffered a lot from writers block and was known to write obsessively for a period of time and pump out many novels that were put on hold, they were then brought out / interspersed with his recent works, to pump up sales/interest etc when he was suffering from the dreaded writers block. Good thinking on his part and at the end of the day his style is fairly predictable and not a lot different throughout the years. I read his novels when i was a young girl and still can read his stuff today at 65. Fairly predictable but still good reads.
The only King book I’ve read cover to cover is The Stand. I couldn’t finish the others. Not because they were scary, but they just didn’t hold my interest.

Thank you ?
Ff
Thats a good question because SK does seem to mention other characters from other books so it did have me wondering if there was an order to them ?
For example, in Dolores Claiborne…she mentions something about the lady in Gerald’s Game and vice versa, I believe
The only ones that I know have to be read in correct order are his Trilogy….Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers and End of Watch. And they were great!

Dr Sleep is also a sequel to the Shining.
No. A few are sequels but on the whole start from the oldest published and go forward

I’d go with beginning to end?
Not unless it’s The Dark Tower Series—and I’d read The Shining Before Dr. Sleep
