I bought one yet I prefer the feel of a paperback when I’m reading. When I go on vacation though, I’ll take the kindle just so I have multiple books to choose from
I hated mine. I never liked the free books and the books I wanted were too expensive when I can buy them for $4 and under or get them from the library for free.
Yes, especially if you have eye issues and you need to make the font bigger or it’s difficult to actually hold a book or turn pages. I live in an apt and don’t have a lot of space to store them.
I have a kindle paperwhite 3 there suppose to be making a new one and releasing this November with audiobook support with bluetooth but if you want to listen to audiobook you will need Bluetooth headphones and on iPad it’s doesn’t have where when it’s reading to you on kindle app and you have the same audiobook as the book your reading it highlights while reading to you which I love this feature they don’t have this feature on the kindle device
I like the kindle fire. Especially if I’m reading a hard read so that when I need to look up a word or high light some thing I can just click on it. But more often than not I like the feel of an actual book in my hand and seeing how far I have read. But that might be just me
I am having the same debate. I love a paperback but am considering a kindle as I am running out of space on my book shelf. There are pros and cons to each! I’m considering using both
Love both kindle and regular books. Kindle is excellent for business trips or vacations as they are easy to hold and have their own light. Also great for reading in bed at night without the worry of keeping a SO up.
Love my paperwhite 7th generation. Fab for the beach and travel. Adjustable light and font. What could be bad. I borrow most of my books with overdrive and Libby from the library.
I love the kindle fire. I am on my 5th kindle. I have 2 here at my house. One loaded with stories and games for my grandchildren. One that is mine only to use. The others were given to my daughters and grandchildren
I always love physical books but when I want library books sometimes they just don’t come as physical books and only come as ebooks. I can’t use a phone or tablet to read, gives me migraines. My Kindle Paperwhite is the best thing ever! I still buy physical books of my favorite authors and such but ebooks are amazing for ones I’m just trying out.
Yes, if you read a lot, get a paperwhite, it doesn’t make your eyes tired, and you can read outside, under the sun. Is perfect for when going in vacation and you want 2 or 3 books with you.
I held out for a long time because I used to like real books. Then I got tired of carrying a real book around with me, so I got a Kindle. Now I love it. They are so convenient and you can carry an entire library one one device. The backlight allows you to read in the dark and in the bright sunshine. The paperwhite pages look close to a real book, but I can change the font style and size for better readability. And you don’t have to find a place to store books. I don’t re-read them, so I just end up buying them then giving them away. Finally, e-books are cheaper.
I’m a paperback person but I’m enjoying getting a free kindle book each month with Kindle First and I’m using Amazon’s lenders library to borrow books I couldn’t get from the library
I was given a kindle maybe three four years ago. It`s in a drawer in my desk. My books old and new however are properly dogeared (is that a word ? ^_^ ) from being read over and over
I have plenty of books, bookcases full of them, some read over and over again. But darned if I don’t enjoy my kindle. Some of the books I read are very cheap, other free. Lightweight books for the interim between books from my favorite authors or the keepers as I call them. But it gives me pleasure as much as owning the paper book.
truth be told I`m no good at navigating a kindle and never took the time to learn how to use it , books just seem easier to me , crafting takes up a lot of my time , farmers market and delivering orders , so , books ^_^
I’m 81, soon to be 82. I decided when computers first came along that I wasn’t going to be a device illiterate, so I bought a computer. Don’t have the first one anymore of course. But it was surprising how easy it was to set up the Kindle. And of course, like everything else I learn as I go, and feel much more at ease with the device now, than I did when I first got it. Of course, you know best what is best for you, so I’m just suggesting.
@Ann Wow, if it ain’t broke….I have a Jitterbug I’ve had for years, but honestly it’s only for emergencies when out driving. If they hadn’t removed every phone box in the country I wouldn’t need a cell phone at all. I still have my landline because micro-towers are known to fall in earthquakes and hurricanes. So, I’m behind the times as well.
Yes, if you look at the list of free books available to download, you’ll find many that appeal to you to make it worth it.
I do have one but still prefer a paper book. Kindle is great if you’re going away etc to save room in luggage, but that’s all I use mine for really.
Yes. I love books but Kindle is so convenient especially for travelling. It is also much lighter than a book especially a very long one.
Yes saved a whole heck of alot od of money
No. Get an iPad.
If you have a tablet already, try the Kindle app. I use mine for travel and love it. Still buy a lot of actual books because I love them.
You can’t read iPads in the sun…. the kindle is designed that you can read it anywhere… anti reflective glass
I was just going to suggest ipad. I can read mine in the sun.
I loved a book too! Nothing is easier than a Kindle! Can carry it anywhere!
I bought one yet I prefer the feel of a paperback when I’m reading. When I go on vacation though, I’ll take the kindle just so I have multiple books to choose from
Kindle is great for traveling and reading at night if you have a partner that can’t sleep with a light on!!

It’s hard making a decision like this for sure.
Love both kindle and regular books. Kindle is excellent for business trips or vacations as they are easy to hold and have their own light. Also great for reading in bed at night without the worry of keeping a SO up.
Yes. But get the paper white
I use my phone to read ebooks
Wish I had my money back. I prefer the real thing.
Love my paperwhite 7th generation. Fab for the beach and travel. Adjustable light and font. What could be bad. I borrow most of my books with overdrive and Libby from the library.
I couldn’t live without mine, especially as a traveler!

You can listen to audiobooks with earbuds on your smartphone.

I love a paper book too and I still read them, but I also get lots of use out of my ereader (kobo).

I love my Kindle. I think I want to be buried with it. LOL
I go back and forth to be honest. Sometimes I love the physical turning of the pages, sometimes I like the kindle.

Paperwhite kindle – most definitely!
Both have their place
Personal choice but I really love a good paperback
Kindle is the Best thing for reading in bed and to bring on holidays! Oh and light and easy for when travelling or just out and about
Only for holidays!
I love the paperwhite! Buying a kindle does not mean you can’t read paper books anymore. (grin), it just gives you the best of both worlds.
I’m a paperback person but I’m enjoying getting a free kindle book each month with Kindle First and I’m using Amazon’s lenders library to borrow books I couldn’t get from the library

sigh* … right you are …. I`m bad at it .. I`m yet to upgrade my cell phone .. I have one of the dinosaur nokia

I think @Ariannah has said it all. Totally agree.
Yes! Hubby and I have kindle hd 8. Can read and get online too. Take your library with you
I never use mine.
It’s especially great for traveling, you don’t have to haul all the books around. They can all fit into the Kindle.
Love my Kindle. It’s a library at my fingertips, and has so many helpful options too!
I used my iPad with the kindle app
