I’m sure we have all read books that we thought would make a great film or TV drama or series. Which book or series would you recommend?
I’m sure we have all read books that we thought would make a great film or TV drama or series.
Which book or series would you recommend?
Mine ha ha xx
Mine ? Did you really expect an author to say any different.
Not really but the question was aimed at readers
@Susan Ah. OK. After the ‘success’ of Bodyguard, I’d recommend books by Ian Patrick or Paddy Magrane.
Hero Nelson series bu @Mel I think it would be amazing.
And the Sally Parker series, Justice series too
I’d love that to happen one day, Sean. 🙂
Kayli series as well
I’d definitely love that series as well, Susan. 🙂
Oh my, a triple wammie, would love to see Kayli featured too. xx
Yes Sally Parker ? xxx
Let’s just have all of your series as TV shows. That would make me super happy
Why not. I wonder who I have to pay to make that happen? lol
Lol they should pay you for your awesome stories
Great idea @Sean. We could all be the cast in them. How good would that be ? xxx
Who am I to argue? lol
Lol. Hmmm well I am in one of the hero books so I could play myself lol
That would be cool. Lol
The Proposal by @Susie would be great x
??
@Susie, James McAvoy would be good at playing Gary I think xx
Agree Aud x
I’d love to see Linda Prather’s Catherine Mans or Jenna James series on the big screen.
@Mel love Catherine mans series.
Great character. xx
Thank you, Sean and Mel.
Kim stone novels Stone or Helen Grace series. Angela Marsons & M J Arlidge
I’m reading Fatal Promises by Angela Marsons at the moment and I agree it would be a brilliant tv series
@Angie series would be wonderful to see. Kim stone is great
@Sean I would love the Kim Stone books to be a tv series.
I’d like to see Robert Crais’s Cole and Pike books on TV.
Your Degrees of Darkness would make brilliant viewing @Tony
Thank you so much for saying so, @Susan. Usually it’s Bliss or Scream Blue Murder that people mention visually, but I’m so thrilled to hear DoD mentioned. Made my day right there. Cheers.
@Caroline and her Jennifer knight series or her ruby Preston series as well would be fun
Yes Ruby Preston would be a great series
Absolutely!! To be honest I think any of her books would translate really well into film. Would love it.
Definitely!
Mel Comley’s DI Sally Parker series. I know others prefer the Hero or Justice series, but Sally grabbed me from the very first book and never let go and now that she’s doing cold cases I’m just waiting for each new installment.
You’re so kind. Love writing the cold cases, thank you, Linda. Xx
Chris Carter’s Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia would make a brilliant TV series too. I also agree Kim Stone would be ace.
I think Chris’s would be good as films or tv series, but I’d be really worried that they would cast wrong or something
@Joanne I agree maybe a little gory for tv they could do better for a film. Yes don’t know who would be good cast x But would love them to be made into films.
I just can’t think of anyone who looks like the way I picture Hunter in my mind lol
I must admit neither can I although i do picture as being very good looking.
@Kate me too. Makes me wish he was real ?
Definitely ??
Stephen Booth’s Cooper and Fry series. Great stories and no foul language.
The Stuart MacBride, Neil White, Jane Casey, MJ Arlidge or Luca Veste books.
I see mine in my mind’s eye. Shouldn’t be too hard to transfer to TV.
LJ Ross DCI Ryan, it would make a fantastic series on so many levels – scenic/dramatic area, full of suspense and great characters. It could happen! Richard Madden could play the lead!
This would be fantastic. Richard Madden too short for Ryan I think
he could wear heels, I wouldn’t mind ?
@Ros This is the problem with our favourite books and series’, we all visualise someone different
Ahh thanks you two! X
Anything by Angela Marsons, @Mel, Betsy Reavley or Mark Edwards ??
The Magpies would be a good choice
Definitely!
Thank you so much, Sam. Xx
@Mel would love to see Lorne and co on the big screen. I wonder if she would look like she does in my mind! ?
@Sam, I always envisaged Suranne Jones playing her. Lol
? she’s blonde in my head!!
She’s brunette in mine. ???
Agree on all your Choi Sam Ketley
Winterscroft by Anita Waller
I’ve not read that one but definitely, 34 Days, Strategy, Captor and Game Players would be great
@Susan – l agree but if you like books with a supernatural element this is one you should add to your tbr list and l think it would make great tv.
@Norma Supernatural is not for me!
All of Shani Struthers books
The Academy by Chris Mono x
Robert Bryndza, @Rob, S E @Susie
Well I’m chuffed to be in the same comment with his royal Bryndzaness – such a lovely guy too x
@Steven Damen Brook series. As I’ve read the first five and think their brilliant.
Thanks for that @Paula. You know there are 6 books, right? ?
Don’t worry it will be in my next order of books ?
You are wise and tasteful, Paula. Thank you for your custom. 🙂
The Helen Grace series would work well!
All of Cara Hunter’s books so far.

In Death series by JD Robb!!!
Nelson DeMille’s John Corey books.

Anything by @Stephen and Ian Rankin

CJ Sansom?
I can’t believe no-one has taken Stuart Macbride’s Logan McRae and Roberta Steele novels onto the box – they’re as good as No Offence (with the wonderful Joanna Scanlon).
MJ Arlidge Helen Grace series would be brilliant
