Debbie Macomber
This is really good!
I just finished this book on Monday and loved it!
I’m definitely adding this to the list
@Jenn it was like it was written by a romance writer who doesn’t read romance. None of the bullshit cliches. No billionaires. No bad boy man sluts. No football star/hockey star/rock star.
@Tricia Have you read any others that are like this/good like this one?
Jenn Dubois this is endlessly discussed on her fan page and so far all I’ve heard is The Kissing Quotient.
Which was pretty HAWT.
@Tricia Looking that one up now
Lots of honorable mentions of Mariana Zapata? But I haven’t read any yet.
Tricia Coan It’s funny, on my amazon search for ‘if you like this then you might like this….’I just added The Kissing Quotient to my TBR list.?
@Jenn I’m a sucker for a good hatemance. Sadly every male co-worker I’ve ever hated I’ve only gone on to hate more as time went on. Not fall madly in love with. And none were ever hot either.
@Tricia Thanks for the link, I can’t wait for her next novel. I’ve always loved the hatemance genre with tv drama’s but never really sought them out in print form.
@Tricia I always wondered where authors got their inspirations for the romance/ now I’m thinking/ hatemance genre. I have questions, like who has these relationships? Where are these people? etc
No one really has these relationships. Romance is like epic fantasy. There are no dragons and there are no hot co-workers that were only mean to you because they fell in love at first sight and tried to push it down but instead it popped up in a deeply adversarial relationship based in sexual attraction. But there are plenty of middle aged pock marked co-workers who are deeply depressed who hate you because you flounce in daily to work anywhere from 5-12 minutes late (hypothetically).
The summer i turned pretty trilogy
