The godfather series- not a historical drama but a damn good gangster read
The Nathan Heller series by Max Allan Collins. He has some run-ins with the mob throughout the series and you don’t really have to read the series in order. Collins also did the original Road to Perdition which is excellent.
The Westies is a very good book about the Irish Mob.
I believe the paragon hotel-Lindsey Faye has mobsters in it
The Great Gatsby has mobsters in it.
Fruit of the Drunken Tree is set in Colombia during Pablo Escobar’s reign and he was one hell of a mobster. It is not from a mobster’s point of view but it is a great look at how destructive he was to an entire country for decades.
