If you have a sort of e reader, do you also read paper versions of books or just ebooks or why did you buy it?

I read papier books and my e-reader cuz Amazon and kobo etc offer Free ebooks and its easier to read than on a cell screen or a computer
I’m an all inclusive girl – paper books, e books and audiobooks!
Ebooks are great for reading in need at night. Light weight, no external light needed with most. Real books are great for reading at home all day. I am always reading at least one of each, plus an audio book when my hands aren’t free.
I only read ebooks.
Mostly paper books
Both, you get loads of free, or cheap books on Amazon, new authors you wouldn’t normally try in a paper book.
I try to get into ebooks, but I have a difficult time absorbing the story and lose interest quickly. On numerous occasions, I just stop trying and get my hands on a hardcopy. On several more, if I did manage to finish the e-version, I’ve gone out and gotten the hardcopy, and rereading it felt like I was reading it for the first time.
If I have the book, I try to get an ebook as well so that I can read on the go. Carrying a book everywhere isn’t always possible.
If my budget permits, I usually both the paperback and eBook version. 🙂
I read paperbacks and hardbacks as well. I bought it to take on vacations and places like that
Both.
I love paper, but I also love to travel, and books are HEAVY. :/
Both it was a present but I still rather read paper books. My kids wanted to bring me into this century
I read both. I typically use my kindle to purchase ebooks and if i read them and love them loads, I will purchase the hard copies to display on my bookcase. If I have one book in a physical copy i try to get the remaining in a series in the same. I’ve started reading only ebooks to save space and if I love them I will buy them lol.
Definitely both, but I’m getting older and my eyes are getting really bad so I rely on my paperwhite more and more
I read both. I have my e reader for when I am in pain and can’t hold a book and also to get cheap deals. I do love the feel of a paperback though.
I read both. I have an ereader because I have trouble with small letter print and reading in the dark
Both. I try to avoid buying books so whichever version the library has is how I read it. Also, Kindle is great for travel, and free downloads. It also come in handy when I want to read a really long book. I purchased The Stand for Kindle so I didn’t have to lug it around everywhere.
I have both- mainly keep my kindle for books I know are free or super cheesy- also easier to hide in work??
I also read both-got my kindle as a gift .
I read both. E reader so I can carry my library with me for convenience but still love books. Actually love them more but an e reader has its place too
I prefer paper books. However, my nook has over 600 books on it, and as I’m in the Navy, it wouldn’t be practical for me to own all of those books with how much I deploy and move.
I am addicted to the convenience of my kindle paperwhite!
Both. I especially like my e-reader for traveling, but I use it at different times. I also read paper books, especially books I already have on paper and paper books that I find at a really good price.
Both, I love my ereader, a lot easier to read and travel with. But if I can get the book cheaper than the ebook then I buy the book.
My reader is for quick biding my time reads. My actual books are ones I really want .
80% ereader (down from 100%), 20% paper.
Only e-reader due to eye problems
I read both. I have shelves of books I bought but haven’t read yet. I download lots of library books in my Kindle
Both. My kindle was a gift. I adore discovering new authors on my kindle.
This is my second kindle after the first dying due to heavy work for 6 years.
I prefer real books as i love the smell of a book, but i do have a reader as travelling a lot and that’s more comfortable;)
I often have a hard back, audible and iBook all going at the same time. We have terrible traffic in Seattle area so the audio books are great. When I’ve got good lighting I prefer a hard back. In the middle of the night or stuck in lines or at appointments the iBook is great. ??
I actually love feel of books !
I have a nook HD. I bought it in college thinking I could get some of my required reading on there, thus cutting down on textbook cost and weight. Now I use it every once in a while but still usually use paper books.
Yes I read lots of physical books still
I usually read ebooks as they r less in price. But owning a paperback is still the best feeling in the world. I love my paper collections. And if I like an ebook too much, then I try and buy paperback book so tht I can go back to it whenever I feel like it
I read both. I like the Ebooks for portability.
I prefer physical books but I do have a kindle and take advantage of my pride lending library and the sales one can find on ebooks
A little bit of everything. Some ebooks, some hard covers, some paperbacks, a few audio books!
I was gifted a kindle fire when they came out… not sure I’ve ever finished a book on it. I use the kindle app on my phone sometimes for Netgalley. ? I prefer hard copy
Any and all versions! Love the physical book shopping experience the best. However, reading, at night,in bed is my Kindle Paperwhite time. (Lightweight, backlit, and if I fall to sleep, it remembers my page and doesn’t crash down on my face or to the floor.?)
Only ebooks!
I won the Kindle and my husband had bought me a Nook before that. I prefer the feel of a book but really use the Kindle when traveling, boating, camping, etc. Also Kindle free allows you to borrow books to read for free, so I enjoy both.
there is nothing. NOTHING . …. like the smell of a new book. NOTHING. i do not use machines to read.
I get books from my library. If the library has the book in ebook form, I get that. If not, I get the paper version.
Both, e reader for convenience, but prefer feel of a real book
Books only!!! Love the smell and just the feel of books!
I do both. The reader is easy for bringing a variety of books in a small space, and for free downloads. I do prefer real paper, but I see the advantages of the reader and it’s been very helpful to me at times.
I use the reader and physical books, sometimes with the same book. It just depends on the situation. If I’m in the perfect reading conditions at home with good light, then I may have the physical book. If it’s dark or I’m in bed, or at work or traveling, I may use the ereader instead for convenience, larger font, better light, easier to hold and carry around, etc. It’s not uncommon for me to be reading one book in either format, including audio.
I was having eye strain which I believed was caused or worsened by reading on iPad. Purchased a paperwhite.
I do both. It’s easier for me to read from my Kindle at night, but I’ll buy physical books as I come across them. Plus it’s easier for me to get this from the library than physical books so I do that too. Then if I really like an ebook, I’ll go buy a physical copy.
I use a Samsung tablet to read on but I also read paper books. I got the tablet (I use the Amazon Kindle app) so I could take more than one book on vacation. We travel a lot and several books are heavy.
I use a kindle . I’m getting cataracts and the print even in the large I can hardly see.
I ment I can’t see the print in a book
I use both depending on the price of the book.
I have an iPad. I still love reading paper books. I got my ereader because with my back issues it is easier to hold
I read everything in every form including labels and cereal boxes if nothing else is around!
Sounds like me! I read on both. Read free books on my iPad
My eyes sight is not so great and i can make the letters big with an ebook. Also i love having less weight for the really big books. I don’t need a reading light at night.
I use both it depends on where I am and what I’ll be doing ?
I use both. my e reader is always in my purse, great for beach. I love curling up on the sofa with the real thing.
Rosa Wright good answer i bet that is it!!
well now that i am blind trying to figure it out i thank YOU for your assistance and choose your answer!
Both. I got my Kindle Fire for Christmas in 2012.
I read mostly ebooks unless there is a physical copy for very cheap.
I’ll use my kindle for quick easy reads, but I like physical books to read mostly.
I read a mixture of both. I have a kobo reader.
I prefer ebooks, because of space considerations
I read both. I like to have 2 books going at once. The Kindle is great to always carry with me and have a choice of hundreds of books to read.
I read both, I have a basic kindle for when I’m travelling, and stacks of physical books at home ?
Unless I’ve started buying physical copies of a series, if I buy a book it’s probably on my kindle. It’s most likely cheaper and definitely more convenient. I do sometimes buy physical copies but it’s rare and it’s probably because the cover makes it worth the extra money. However most physical copy books I read are from my library.
I read both
Mixture of both. Usually kindle if I’m desperate to read the next book in a series and want it right away. Otherwise I tend to buy what’s cheaper – book or download x
Both
i would still buy the book for my collection
Both. If a book is my absolute favorite, I’ll buy a paper copy or if an author is doing and online signing then I’ll buy that. But only for my favorite authors and favorite books. It depends on how I feel whether I read on kindle app, read a physical book or listen to a book. I do it all!!
My daughter and her family gave me a Kindle for Christmas the year Kindles came out! I am old school and much prefer paper and ink books, but due to health issues, I don’t know how much longer I can hold books….
That’s the same as me, I use the kindle when in pain but still manage a few paperbacks x
Both.
Both x
Both
I read both i buy more paper back like to hold a book and the smell use e book at work easier to carry
I own both. I love paper books the most but I tend to read really thick books and an ebook is lighter
I own both. I also drive for 45 min to work and back home. In the car i listen to books. Most books on the American civil war are not on kindle so i have bought those. Most other reading ous on the kindle.
I read both…I didn’t buy mine however my mom bought it and sent it to me before telling me about it
Both.
Some on paper. Some on ereader. I can’t give up paper books just yet
Always print books ! Get my books from my little lovely town library. I read so much that I would end up spending all the retirement money, otherwise ! ❤️?❤️
As a mobile library driver I depend on people who lend books. ?
I read both. Paper books at home and the Ebola when I am out or on holidays.
Both. Serious eye problems. I like to control brightness and size of type.
Both. I like the convenience of having my Kindle Paperwhite while I am on the go. It’s hard to carry hardcover or paperback book everyday.
To be honest I get the books I don’t think I’ll be really in love with on my ereader, because they’re less expensive that way
I read both. The paper copy is more to have just in case something happens to the ereader
I have an eye reader that I use most of the time. I have a visual impairment and everything has to be large print. I also read paper books if I can find what I want in large print. I’m thinking about trying audio books.
Auto correct zinged me again. Above post should have been e reader. ?
Bazinga ?
I use both actually. Paper books at home.. my kindle when we travel or I get a deal on an ebook I want.
I use my e reader when I travel but read paper books when I’m at home.
Don’t have one, don’t want one, don’t like them.
I’m old fashioned, I like the feel and smell of a real book.
Too many people using a screen to read books.
I like being able to take 50 books with me when I travel without taking up space and weight.
Netflix, prime reading, portable capability…but I also get paper. Depends on availability, cost, mood, etc.
I use my Kindle and I read paper books.
Read both
Both
I do both, I admit I have more ebooks but I lovvvvvvvvvvve physical books!
I dont have any ereader but I use my phone and I still read both. I just use my phone on CTA
Such a good movie!
