C.S. Lewis wrote, concerning his first reading of Phantastes at age sixteen, “That night my imagination was, in a certain sense, baptized; the rest of me not unnaturally, took longer. I had not the faintest notion what I had let myself in for by buying Phantastes”
Battle Mage by Peter Flannery. Aaaaaaaamazing!!! By far the most complete story I’ve read in a long time. A book that broke my heart and blew my mind in a constant stream of fabulous story telling. A true “show not tell” example.
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Mistborn, The Way of Kings, Warbreaker all by Brandon Sanderson, Red Rising by Pierce Brown, Malice by John Gwynne, City of Stairs and Foundryside both by Robert Jackson Bennett… I can keep going lol
I like King, and I’ve read more than a few of his books, some I like, some I don’t and don’t get the hype about. He hasn’t ended some well but this book is big, but definitely worth it. You’ll be through it in no time!
