I loved “The Glass Castle”……true story.
Me too!!! Did you read Half Broke Horses? I think that’s the name. It’s her Grandmothers Story. Very good!
A great book.
I used it as a class novel in 10th grade. They LOVED it.
It was a great book!
I read that recently, too & really enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the book, but not the movie
love, love the book and thought the movie did a pretty good job
Have you read Half Broke Horses? Excellent as well.
I loved it too. This may have been a catalyst for my obsession to read all the memoirs I come across. I just love this genre now.
I do too.
@Carolyn P.ease tell me what others have engaged you. I may have some titles to recommend as well!
One that stuck with me is Running with Scissors.
@Carolyn Oh I loved that one! Funny tragic, and a bit dark at times.
Recently read, I Can Only Imagine (Bart Millard of MercyMe’s memoir). Powerful read!
I saw the movie. I don’t think I have the emotional strength for the book.
@Susie The end of the book (not included in the movie) was really heartbreaking!
I honestly don’t think I could handle it. The guy they picked to play Bart in the movie was fantastic. I know there was some literary license taken with the movie but overall it got the point across 💔❤
Loved this book! I was lucky enough to hear her speak at the university where I live.
I am green with envy.
An astounding story…one of my all time favorites!
People of the Book is a favorite
I loved this book
Yes. Now read EDUCATION.
I agree this was a great read!
I really liked the book. Have read it for two different book groups. Didn’t like the movie.
I must be the only person in America who didn’t like this book.
That’s the way I felt about “Gone Girl.” I just couldn’t see what everyone was so excited about.
My friend I recommended it to hated it so you aren’t the only one! Haha! Actually both those books!
Thankfully we don’t all have the same taste in literature. This is what makes the world interesting.
@Jan Of course but it did make me wonder what I missed. I’m also the only person in America who hates the movie UP.
Liked it too
Well, I guess I liked it because I could identify with it……growing up with alcoholic parents in a dysfunctional family……..AND I DO like true stories.
