The books are so much better than the movie or tv series (books usually are) but read the books before watching because your imagination will paint a much better picture than the shows ?
So glad to see someone recommend this book. This was one of the books that made a life long impression on me. I remember crying so hard at the end. I really should reread it as an adult, but I don’t want to risk diminishing my love for it.
11/22/63 by Stephen King. Even if you have never read his books read this one. I’m telling everyone to read it. It’s more sci-fi/fantasy then a typical King book. Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
The Doomsday Book (intense, tear jerker) To Say Nothing of the Dog (funny, spoof on old murder mysteries) Blackout and the sequel All Clear (I haven’t read these yet) (Note: if you do read Connie Willis, don’t be fooled into reading Passages. It’s basically a 400 page rant on how bad the movie Titanic was.)
Other books: Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children The Strange Affair Of Springheeled Jack (very steampunk) The First Fifteen Lives Of Harry August (not really time travel, but a similar theme) All Our Wrong Todays
Time and Again by Jack Finney is one of my all-time favorite books. The first fifty pages or so are a little slow but after that you are caught up in a wonderful story. I have read this book probably five times.
Thank you all so much! I’m so excited that I have so many books to research now. I have tried outlander and could not get into but I was only about 40 pages in so I will try again.
The time travelers wife
The Outlander series
Sorry I dont have more ideas.
My two favorite books!

These would be my two suggestions as well. ❤
Firebird and The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley.
Firebird isn’t quite time traveling. It’s more of paranormal. The MC’s have special gifts that allow them to see the past. Pretty neat though.
I call those time slips rather than a time travel
@Sarah What is the difference?
I call them that because the MC slips into and out of time periods no prolonged travel and no specific way.. ie machine
I see. Thanks. I wasn’t aware the OP was looking for specific time machine time travel books. Good to know. 🙂
Try The Forever War, by Joe Haldeman. Classic. Highly recommend it.
The chronicles of st. Mary’s. The first one is called Just One Damned Thing After Another!
The whole series is fabulously irreverent. Such a great read!
Try “Timequake” or “The Sirens of Titan” by Kurt Vonnegut
The Girl from Everywhere
The Ship Beyond Time
A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux if you like romance

11/22/63 by Stephen King. Even if you have never read his books read this one. I’m telling everyone to read it. It’s more sci-fi/fantasy then a typical King book. Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
11/22/63 is my favourite by King. I cant believe I forgot to mention it.
Listened to 11/22/63 on audiobook a few times. Great book!
I have book titled Blackout by Connie Willis. It’s about time traveling into the past. I haven’t read it yet, but it seems interesting
Also, The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis. About the Black Plague. And The Passage by Connie Willis. The second is about the Titanic.
@Diane, they sound good! I’ll have to dive into Blackout next after finishing my current read
A Darker Shade of Magic I think?
Connie Willis wrote several:
The Doomsday Book (intense, tear jerker)

Connie Willis’s are my favorite.
