I never read these kinds of books, not because they aren’t good reads, but because I get so tied up in the details, I forget what the plot is. My bad, I know.
@Jill Yes, both are very good. This is a great season for reading a good mystery too. I am in New England and it’s a bit chilly, so cozying up by my fireplace with a hot cup of tea and a good mystery is just perfect.
I liked the TV adaptions of her books. I think the details that are missing in the books I loved the ones that had Miss Marple that looked like my Aunt Bessie.
I liked her books til I had a family member who would tell me the answer to the mystery as soon as they say me with one of her books. I didnt even get the chance to read the first chapter before he wrecked AND THEN THERE WERE NONE for me
My all time favorite author. I am reading a biography about her. Her life is almost as interesting as the ones she portrays between the pages of her books. Hercule Poirot is my favorite literature character ever!!
@Oscar No she’s pretty bad. Just your typical commercial mystery writer. Uses the same template for all of her books. About 50,000 words. A murder. Useless clues that don’t lead to anywhere. The reveal. Clues that should have been given before the reveal.
Written in a very clear and beautiful English with attention to different styles and registees and a geeat capacity to capture details. She also knew very well human character and psychology.
My favourite book by her is https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/140345.Absent_In_The_Spring
After a while her books become predictable ? I used to read her book when I was in collage ?
I just bought 4 that I never read before. Finished the first one and can’t wait to dig into the others. I love H.P.!
She’s the queen of mystery
I tried reading And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie! Could not get into it.
I am reading it now. After page 46 it gets good
@Jill enjoy!
Just started it.
Love them!
I haven’t read one in a very long time. May have to pick one up next time I hit the bookstore — which may be at lunchtime today.
The queen
Adore her writing. Just literally finished body in the library. Brilliant!
Love them- they really make me feel cosy ?
Big fan
They are all good reads and there’s a few excellent ones too

I have never read one. Would love to!!

And Then There Were None..was one of my favorites.
I am reading that now ?
Which one?
And then was none is what i am reading at the moment. I love Murder On the Orient express.

They haven’t “aged” too well, but in their day–whee.
Adore them. Louise Penny, too.
I liked the TV adaptions of her books. I think the details that are missing in the books I loved the ones that had Miss Marple that looked like my Aunt Bessie.
<3 them. Currently reading 2. Murder On The Orient Express and Hallowe'en Party.
@Rebecca i totally forgot about the halloween party !!
my favourite..
Just bought this old copy – didn’t even know that it existed! Perfect for an October read.
Very British very good
I like mystery.
She has an alluring way with words
Love them. Named my cat Marple for Miss Marple!
Love Agatha Christie?
She has no equal. Unless she revealed the villain, (and everyone was a suspect with a motive), one could not figure them out
I liked her books til I had a family member who would tell me the answer to the mystery as soon as they say me with one of her books. I didnt even get the chance to read the first chapter before he wrecked AND THEN THERE WERE NONE for me
Marvelous! We love using random quotes from some of her books.????
I have only read two of her books, The Mysterious Affair At Styles and The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd and I LOVED them!
Cool
Love.
My first one I ever read by her was And Then There Were None. To this day my favorite.
The is the best.
My all time favorite author. I am reading a biography about her. Her life is almost as interesting as the ones she portrays between the pages of her books. Hercule Poirot is my favorite literature character ever!!
@Sandy i will look it up. She was so cool!!
One of my first mystery writers that turned me onto the genre. She’s a legend.
Started reading Agatha again a few months ago. Her stories are so good I’ve started from the beginning and reading them as chasers!
Pieces of crap.
She is one of the best selling authors of all time, she can’t be that bad.
@Oscar holy moly !! That is awesome

All of her books are priceless.
Never read one
Love them
Love the words she uses.
Like propitious?
I hate her books with every fibre of my being
Your opinion doesn’t matter Hay****.
Great prose, no profanity , old fashioned prose and certainly very intelligently written.
Written in a very clear and beautiful English with attention to different styles and registees and a geeat capacity to capture details. She also knew very well human character and psychology.
Fabulous
Have read most of her books. Some of them more than once
Excellent… I too love her
Love her!
Awesome books
