Yes! I prefer short chapters. I would only read James Patterson books for quite some time due to this very reason. Now I have moved on to other books with long chapters but I am always looking for good authors with short chapters.
I used to prefer nice, long chapters….then I had kids and my reading time got demolished and I don’t have as much time anymore. So now I *love* short chapters or books with breaks within the chapters. So much easier for me to get some reading time in in short bursts.
I LOVE LONG ASS BOOKS if they’re third party I like small chapters but they have to drag the whole elephant home tidy? separation anxiety I get attached
I will read both but I feel the same. I think it’s primarily because I am really busy but I hate to put a book down in the middle of a chapter. So I guess that’s my actual quirk ?
I’ll read the book if I think it sounds interesting but I do prefer short chapters. I also have discovered that I prefer it when each chapter has a title. Ie Chapter six. Murder. I also like it when each chapter has an illustration. Weird I know.
yes I do I like to read chapter to chapter so say i get a spare 5 mins I’ll read 1 or 2 chapters were as if there long chapters I won’t because I don’t like to stop in the middle of a chapter x
Yeah, I can’t put a book down until I get to the end of the chapter (my strange quirk) so it’s really frustrating when I start a chapter late at night, realise it’s MASSIVE and then have to fight to keep my eyes open ?
Yeah i prefer it!
It doesn’t stop me reading books with long chapters or no chaptets though, it just annoys me while I’m reading them lol

I much rather read short chapters then long ones. Makes it easier to take a break if needed.
Preference!
Yes. It keeps your interest higher!
I prefer it! I try to stop reading at chapter ends, and if it’s too long it drives me insane.

I HATE long chapters. I’m reading a book right now that averages 30 pages a chapter. It makes me stabby.

Yes. Not Wifey Material is a good one with short chapters if you are open to a little racey-ness. Lol
MORE PLEASE
Depends how short. I’m reading the incendiaries at the moment and some chapters are only a page long which is just far too short for me.
Series of unfortunate events is great for that

Both short and long depending on how long the book is. If it’s a long book I’d rather shorter chapters but if it’s shorter I’d prefer longer chapters
I just read Guilt by Amanda Robson… it was a really good read and had many very short chapters.
Yes, I like short chapters too. The Woman in the Window has short chapters. I’m about ⅔ through it. Very good so far.
James Patterson books have short chapters

Yes. James Patterson books.
❤ James Patterson books!!!!
Same here! It flies in a lot quicker I think.
It does. You want to keep reading. When the chapters are long, I hate stopping in the middle of a chapter unless there are breaks in paragraphs.

Same with me. If I don’t have enough time, I won’t start another long chapter, but there’s always a few minutes for a 2 or 3 page chapter…:)
Totally!!!
James Patterson is the best
I agree sometimes they just drag on about the same topics for an eternity!
Same here!!
Makes a book fly- it keeps me reading!

Yes, just read a book with no chapters (In the Dark) it was a bit odd not having any.
Yes! I like the feeling I can stop at any time!
Totally! For some reason I feel like I’m reading the whole book faster 🙂
One of the reasons I like Robert B. Parker’s books. Many times the chapters are only a couple/three pages long!
I do, I find it helps mediate my appallingly short attention span!
Love them
Yes
Yes!
Well, at least not really long chapters. I don’t like to look at the bottom of the page and see that I still have 86 pages left in this chapter, lol.
Yes!
Stuart Woods is a good author with short chapters. Perfect for lunch break reading.
Yes, perfect for reading in a waiting room!
