For young readers but enjoyable for adults: The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman (first in His Dark Materials trilogy) Harry Potter series
For older readers: The Icewind Dale trilogy and Dark Elf trilogy by R.A. Salvatore Uprooted by Naomi Novik Shades of Magic trilogy by VE Schwab Anything by Neil Gaiman or Patricia A. McKillip
Chronicles of the Warlands by Elizabeth Vaughn. The first three make up a trilogy. It’s based on a romance and it has a historical feel to it. I absolutely loved it and have reread the first 3 books many times. All the books in the series are good.
I love everything that has been written by Cassandra Clare. She writes the Mortal Instruments, the Infernal Devices, and recently the Dark Artifices series. Highly recommended.
All I have is old ones lol. The Barbed Coil by JV Jones is always one of my favs. The Shannara series by Terry Brooks. And the Exiles series by Melanie Rawn (she only wrote 2 out of a trilogy but they resolve quite nicely) 🙂
Try Mercedes Lackey. She has a wide range of books that are light and quick to read.
I really enjoyed “War of the Flowers” by Tad Williams
