The first book I read by them was in 1998 and it was “Kenders, Gully Dwarves, and Gnomes” …. it was Then I found there was a whole entire WORLD I knew nothing about. I went to Goodwill and bought every DL book, and have been building and collecting ever since.
@Sydney there are many different groups in the Disc world books. There are the Guards, The Witches, ones with the Luggage and the Wizards. It works best if you read each group in order so you understand the references but you can some you can read as stand alone.
Lots of my favourites are already suggested ? A couple of series not mentioned are Sarah J Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses and Holly Black’s Folk of the Air series ?
I enjoy most of Robin McKinley’s books. Piers Anthony, too.

Also loved The Ember Blade by Chris Wooding which came out this year. It had the classic epic fantasy feeling while fresh and new at the same time.
