How many hours a week do you read?
I try to get in 3 hrs per day
I have never thought about how long I read. I just read lol. If I had to guess it would be 10+ hours ?
Two or three hours a day seven days a week. I’m retired!
2 after supper; 1 – 2 in the afternoon, if I can.
I do 7 hrs every 5days.. and give my eyes two days off
A few hours a day so about 21-24 hours.
I try to get in an hour before bed every night.
2-3 hours daily
Not enough ?
I read about 10 hrs a week + about 3 hrs of reading aloud
15 to 20 if I’m lucky.
Lol its about four hours at night.
Some weeks…three books…the last two weeks, maybe 20 pages total. I don’t track time but pages. Ideally, three hours a night…
I’m an English teacher. This time of year, I get 4-5 hours a day and sometimes more! Lately, I’ve averaged a novel every 1-2 days. That being said, I get almost no time for leisure reading during the school year when I’m grading essays and reading for work! When school is in session, I’m lucky to finish a novel in 2-3 weeks!
Ditto! Vacation just started today. I’m ready!
Geesh your a fast reader
Not nearly enough!
My reading is mostly audio books and I average 90 min per day on week days during my commute to and from the office.
I’ve been listening to books because I’ve been crocheting little stuffed animals for kids with cancer. Each “critter” takes upward to six hours. I guess I read about one to two hours a day.
A lot, but not enough.
All of them!
I try atleast an 1 hour per day but sometimes more, sometimes less.
Two hours a night
20 or so.
If I didn’t have to work, do laundry, dishes or cook – I would get in a lot more reading!
I am an avid reader some days I get in 5 to 6 hours. So in a week can get close to 45 hrs
2-3 hrs during week. 5+ on a good weekend per day.
Are you kidding? I read 2-3 hours minimum each DAY! Sometimes more.
Too many for the rest of my life – what’s housework? ?
I read in bed every time (no tv in our bedroom) and I usually travel for work (airport and plane time) so that’s usually about 10 hours a week. Usually works out to a book a week.
Probably 2-3 hours a day, more if I can
I try to read at least 30 minutes in the evening. Sometimes I get more and sometimes less.
Depends on the week…
2+ a day, depending on what’s going on..wish it could be more.
I try for 2 hours a day, some times more, mostly time gets away from me.
At least 20 hrs a week if not more.
Way too many??
As much as I possibly can each day!!!
I don’t work due to medical conditions and reading helps me keep sane. I read several hours a day.
I’m retired so I read during awake hours.
As many as I can
as many as possible
As many as I can get….at least 20 or more…
Lots. Most times, I’d rather read than watch TV. For a reader the only real difference is whether you’re watching your “movie” or one someone else made. 🙂
At least 5-6 hours in a normal week…. more if I am traveling or on vacation.
At least an hour a day, but generally 2-4.
roughly 30 a week, around 2-4 hours a day, a few days more …
At least 20. But if I include audio, probably about 27.
About 12 …
As much as I can?
Depends on the books I’m reading. Some I can savor, others I have to devour!
25ish. But I am retired and widowed
35-50. I dont sleep well so Im usually up past midnight
Every day on my lunch hour and a hour before bed. On vacation….all day!!
At least 10.
Hmm. An hour at lunch 4 days a week; then maybe 2 – 6? hours at night, depending how badly my back hurts at night. I often wake up in the wee hours due to back pain, so i read. Then on weekends I read as much as possible. 24 hours+ per week, maybe?
I am retired so at least 2hrs a day.
20 ,if it’s a book I can’t put down,more.
Probably way too many judging by the number of chores that are left undone. Probably 5-8 hrs a day. Hey, I’m retired and I don’t watch much tv.
Probably around 50. I don’t watch TV and I go to bed late, so I read most evenings.
It depends on how many I’m reading. I’ve usually got one by the bed, and one by the sofa.
As much as I can. ?
I would say 2-3 hours most days
14-21 hrs a week, I guess
Every chance I get!
3-4 hrs a day//24-28 per week
Two to three hours a night.
3-4 hrs a day, in the morning before getting up, at noon, while watvhing tv, in bed before going to sleep. ? happy happy
If i could it would be 24/7 but about 3 hrs a day.
I used to read a lot more before I got on GAR!
Lol so true for me
About 15 –
About 14, 2 hours a day, during the school year. Maybe 32, 4 to 5 + hours a day, once school is out.
Like @Pam said, I read during my lunch break 5 days a week plus another 2-4 hours at night each evening and on the weekends. So I’d say 25ish (give or take) hours a week?
I only ear-read and I’m rarely without earphones – at work and at home, in the car, even as I go to sleep, I’m listening. Probably 35 – 40? I average 3 books a week. If I had to hold a book, definitely it would be much less.
Oh… forgot to add in the audio….. that adds 5 to 8 hours a week.
Many. Not sure of a number, but I can read a book a day. *Disabled, not employed.
In the summer (I’m a teacher) I can easily read 3 books a week.
A lot. Now that I’m retired, I don’t keep track. 3-4 hours a night probably. Enough to keep me out of trouble!
Easily 15-20 hours. ????
Probably too many! Maybe 40 to 50.
There’s no such thing as reading too much! ?
7 – if we’re only counting reading for pleasure.
10 hours or more ( not including newspapers)
15 unless grandkids gone then more like 30.
10 or so.
Only about 8 to 10.
Not nearly enough.
Maybe 10, 12 but work really gets in my way a lot of the times.
My husband thinks too many. LOL
At least 21.
As many as I can shove in the day. Minimum is 2.
10 to 15 , every chance I get!
It varies from week to week of course but on average I would say at least 25 to 30.
As many as I can. It’s easy when I turn off the TV.
Probably 7 work weeks but double that at least summers.
I lost count.
Not nearly enough
Waaaaay too many!
Not nearly enough. I need a 26 hour day
Between 14-21. I can only read at night when my people are asleep. Can’t concentrate otherwise. So I stay up way too late every night.
That was me when I was still working! I worked at the hospital and had to get up at 4:15 am. I remember sooo many mornings when I would drag myself in after staying up too late reading! Now I am retired and I don’t have to worry about it! ?
I’m a stay at home mom and a writer so I’m kind of retired. I get to make my own schedule anyway. My son sleeps until between 10-12 noon and I write between 10pm-2am depending on my word count. Then I read until my eyelids are leaden (4-5am). I’m still exhausted at the crack of noon but it’s worth it.
Too many I’m sure.
5 to 10 hrs on average.
I’d say about an hour a day. Not enough.
Maybe 7. Unless I get sucked in. Ya know what I mean. Then, I can spend hours on a weekend day getting to the ending. ?
Depends on the books but I usually read at least 4 books a week so probably 25 to 30 hours
10-20…. more if possible
A few hours a day if I can.
1 to 2 a night.
Everyday .. hours very
About 10 unfortunately. Want to do more
My husband would say too many, and I would say not enough!
Not enough! 😀
Not enough- lol
I would guess between 5-10 hours, which is not enough!!
Every night for at least 2 hours (my DH watches Star Trek and I HATE Star Trek!!)
Get them a Star Trek book for their birthday.
@Sarah he doesn’,t read unless it’s a motor manual. Never has been a reader.
I’ve honestly lost count by now ?
10 to 15
primaryly on the weekend about 10
2-4 hours per day. More if the book is compelling.
7 day week 20
15-20 including audio books
At least 20
I am retired and I usually read two books per week. Love reading.
About 28 hrs per week
Not enough. ?
I retired this year so a better question would be how many hours a week do I not read?
14 hours but I’d love to read more!
