Touchy subject for me! 4, but effectively 2. I bought two, going to a lot of trouble to make sure I could get two more later that were *identical*. Bought two more later that were wrong, sent them back, two more came, still wrong… still waiting for the right ones. Meanwhile I have two large bookcases I’m not using because I don’t want to have to unload them when the correct ones come.
2, one medium size and 1 small. I’m more of a library person and I don’t hang on to that many books I have already read and own. It may change as I’m starting to collect some Penguin Drop Caps and Penguin Modern Classics.
About fourteen. Having to thin down to thirteen though due to a new sofa from friends. Very nice for reading on this sofa. There are five of us though and the cat used to live above a bookshop.
Ummm… 20? Plus a number of fabric storage cubes from Target as well as book baskets and I have cookbooks in my pantry on a shelf and behind curio doors in my formal desk
I have 4 that are full and two built in shelves in my bedroom that I use for books as well as other things…I want a library room with wall to wall bookcases! I need a bigger house!!!!!
I have one smaller bookcase in each of my kids’ rooms plus one in their play room and one in the living room, so that’s…4.
My books are not on traditional bookshelves, they are in my bed. My bed has a built in bookcase in the headboard that fits all my mass market paperbacks, then giant storage drawers built into the bed frame currently hold about 250 books and I could probably fit another 75-100 books in there without overloading it, and then I’ll get a bookshelf for me ?
One big one and two smaller ones in the living room (plus now slowly taking over the DVD shelf – much to DH’s disapproval ?). Also one medium shelf in the loft for “overflow”.
There’s 4 right now, two for me, two for my husband. They are allso stacked 2 deep where possible and overflowing. In desperate need of more. Waiting for last fish to die to get rid of aquarium for space for another.
6 – two are full wall on opposite ends of the same room where we once home schooled; plus there is one that is 8 feet long and over 4 feet tall in the dining room; and one is 10 feet long and nearly 5 feet tall in my office; and there are two others that are merely 6-footers. Love my books!
I have ten and they are overflowing haha. If I had more space I would add more shelves. ☺️
Just looking at them fills me with joy

I only have 1…and a tote. No room for another right now.
10
3 book cases for me 2 for my kiddos and at least 4 more big totes full
11…with 4 being tipple stacked and 2 double stacked…with stacks of books around…in need of more bookcases.
13 double-stacked large shelves – 2 unbuilt, 7 tall piles, 7 full big boxes.
6 in my living room, 2 downstairs
17. And now we are out of wall space
Nine 5-6’ tall
One 3’ tall
Three “little” ones
7 of the tall ones are overflowing
I have two, so far. Technically we have four total, but those are used for awards.
3 in the living room, 1 in my room, 1 in my daughters, 2 in my sons. And more books in boxes
7 and counting lol
I have 4.
Ummm… 20? Plus a number of fabric storage cubes from Target as well as book baskets and I have cookbooks in my pantry on a shelf and behind curio doors in my formal desk
I should say 12 tall ones, 2 4×4 Expedit Cube shelves from IKEA, 2 small cube towers from Target, 2 3×3 short cube shelves, 3 short bookcases
12
5 plus books in closets , drawers and widowsills windowsills
22 plus a huge stack in the floor…then there is my ereader
I have 4 that are full and two built in shelves in my bedroom that I use for books as well as other things…I want a library room with wall to wall bookcases! I need a bigger house!!!!!

We have built in in just about every room! Our living room and play room have built ins as well as all of the bedrooms!
We have several throughout the house plus a library filled with even more.
They’re everywhere… various sizes and shapes.
My Kindle fits in my purse. Just saying…???
So does my tablet but it isn’t the same as having real books around.
12 book cases — in my house. Plus books in closets all over the house. And some on the floor.
One big one and two smaller ones in the living room (plus now slowly taking over the DVD shelf – much to DH’s disapproval ?). Also one medium shelf in the loft for “overflow”.
Need! ?
