That’s much more David Ellis than James Patterson – which isn’t a bad thing – David Ellis is a great writer. He also co-wrote ‘Invisible’ with Patterson which I think is better than Murder House – and check out Ellis’s own work – The Last Alibi, The Wrong Man, The Hidden Man – based around a rough-around-the-edges lawyer called Jason Kolarich – cracking thrillers 🙂
I have a lot to learn about crime fiction & writers! Only wish I had more time to read!
@Val Don’t we all!!!
A shame he sold out, and will put his name on nearly anyone’s book now, for a price, making people think he actually had a hand in writing it.
Alex Cross and Michael Bennett Series of books are awesome
The Women’s Murder Club series is great also.
Thanks. I’ll have a look for those
His early stuff was good but if you’ve just started the crime genre is an absolute wonderland if you hunt out the lesser known names Val. But for big names try Harlen Coben and Michael Connolly as well. 🙂
So many books & not enough time!
@Val, copy that.
@Val @Stevens books are fab! REALLY fab! And I agree with him, have a look at some of the lesser known names because that’s where the gems are! xx
Thanks, I will do.x
@Sharon, thanks for that. x
Always happy to introduce folk to your books Steven! X
Also. try David Baldacci
But does people not think that is down to the co- authors for being so soft for agreeing to do this rather than write under their own name, but a good bit of business for James Patterson, good on him. Getting back to his books, Alex Cross, womens murder club, Michael Bennett, NYPD Red series enjoyed them all & look forward to the next even if he doesn’t write them himself.
Being new to this I didn’t realise that these books weren’t actually written by him. Still enjoying it tho!x
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter who wrote them as long as your enjoying them.
If you don’t mind violence, as long as the book is thrilling and fast paced, try my bloody valentine by him.
Thanks
Must have read everything by Patterson and ” others ” but agree with Steven Dunnes comments ,lots of good authors out there ,good reading
I have a long list of authors to look for now. Thanks for all the recommendations!
You should start with the Alex Cross series. I used to write romances until I read my first James P book. X
