Read American Gods, Coraline and Graveyard Book. Currently reading Good Omens (co-authored with Sir Terry Pratchett) and Sandman series (graphic novels). BRILLIANT…each one of them.
His writing has a brand of dark that has more shades in it than what human eye can behold across the entire spectrum of colours…so rich is the palette whence all his characters and places and stories draw their life.
He is one of my favorite authors, so of course I would recommend his books, and it’s hard to pick favorites, but perhaps Neverwhere and Ocean at the end of the lane for the beginners ?
All his books are good, some are brilliant. I’d suggest you read Good Omens, which he co-authored with Sir Terry Pratchett, and then Neverwhere, American Gods, Anansi Boys, The Ocean at the End of the Lane and then his short story collections…
I reccomend you start with “Stardust”. Then you can move on to “Coraline”, “The Ocean at The End of The Lane” and “American Gods”(which might seem intimidating because of it’s lenght, but you won’t be able to put it down, because it’s THAT good).
I’ve read most of his stuff. I’m even reading his children’s stories because they’re just so imaginative. My favorite are The Graveyard Book and The Ocean at the End of the Lane. But his full length novels are great
I loved Stardust and Coraline. I didn’t like American Gods. I also read The View From the Cheap Seats, which is a collection of his non-fiction. He writes really well, so that was very enjoyable and thought-provoking.
I started reading his books this year, and I have yet to find one that I haven’t enjoyed! I have read American Gods, Coraline, and The Graveyard Book were all really good. I have Norse Mythology on my shelf and haven’t read it yet though.
American Gods. I started Norse Gods but got distracted by other books. What I read was really good and interesting. I could see where Tolkien got some of his inspiration.
Norse mythology
The Ocean At The End of The Lane. Loved it very much!! Would recommend it for sure.
Coraline, Good Omens (with Pratchett), The Cemetery Book…
Neverwhere is my favorite.
All his books are worth reading, definitely all of the above and American Gods and Ananzi Boys
Anything written by Gaiman is worth reading!!!
But I would recommend American Gods and/or Good Omens ( in collaboration with Pratchett)
Good Omens, Neverwhere, American Gods, Fragile Things, Wolves in the Wall, and the M is for Magic
Neverwhere is amazing!!
All of his books are great x♥️
