I’ve read all of Plath. I’m not a big fan. I think Anne Sexton or Sharon Olds does that kind of poetry better.

In my opinion, she was way better. She was broken in every way possible and it reflects in her work, especially The Bell Jar. One might wonder, how much she could have accomplished if she hadn’t succumbed to her depression.

I didn’t have a good impression of The Bell Jar. As someone who has suffered from depression herself, I wondered, why is this considered a good choice for adolescents (it was required reading for my niece’s AP English class)? I have not read most of the poems (except for “Daddy”).
