Funny you should ask that :-D. I actually wrote a blog post a while back where I revisited this classic from my teens. It might contains some spoilers, though (I try not to put them in but sometimes they slip which is why I put my disclaimer on the post). https://thedreambook.wordpress.com/2017/07/16/revisiting-sylvia-plaths-the-bell-jar/
I recently read it for the first time. In my book, it was just an OK book. It was good, but it did not grab me and hold me hostage like I like a book to.
Great book. On my list of favorites. It’s intense though, but paints a picture of someone dealing with deep depression. If you only like books about rainbows, sunshine, and with happy endings, it’s not for you.
It is a bit depressing and some of her writing is weird, but it is beautifully written overall and worth reading – one of my favorite books!
Loved, loved, loved it!
Great book but it’s a very heavy read.
Beautiful. Disturbing. Amazing.
YES! I read this as a teenager and fell in love with books
Good read.
Love it. Really helped me through a tough time and it is a book that has stayed with me over the years.
I regret not reading it sooner..its been on my wish list for years.
I loved it. Don’t read if you’re feeling down or depressed, though. It can be very triggering.
Depression is seriously exposed
Excellent read by a remarkable woman
The best of me by nicholas spark

I found it a really interesting read. Would highly recommend it.
Really liked it.
well written, moving and a piece of literature of the time
It is a book that I love because it’s my daugther’s favorite, read it twice a.. Keep in mind that it is a bittersweet story.
When I was a teen and didn’t understand that I had a mental illness, this was the book that helped me realize I wasn’t alone in the world.
Read it a ton of time, but I read so many books about mental illness that I have problems keeping them straight.
Thanks for posting this Jayson. It’s been on my TBR list for years even though I’ve never really heard others thoughts on it.
I really enjoyed the book. Well worth reading.

I agree!
Same here.
What are you currently reading @Lee?
ARC of The Beloveds from NetGalley.
Is it good?
Not really! Too much info about plants and gardening. I am glad I finally finished it.
Oh. 🙁
I desperately need a good book to read!! I think I’ve read all the good ones.
I was glad finally finish this one.
Hated it
I love it.
Eh, was expecting spectacular. Not so much….?
Loved it. It’s superb. Sylvia Plath is a genius. I’d really suggest getting a reading guide to help though, there’s a lot of nuance in it.
Loved it…..l could related to it some some levels…
Read it in high school! Loved it..a bit depressing tho
On my tbr
Good book. Well written. Tragic…I cried.

I was kind of meh about it.
I enjoyed it.
Great book
I admit I was a little confused when I read it. And I read it as an adult. I think I must’ve had too much on my mind at the time
