Has anyone read Mischling?
I tried, I wanted to like it so much….
You didn’t finish it?
@Laura sorry to say, no, and I love books dealing with WWII, etc. I take it I should try again;)
Was it just too hard to read?
@Laura I am not sure, could not get into it,. Sometimes I have too high expectations;) I am sure you will probably enjoy it immensely. Same thing happened to me with Gone Girl….
I think I’m probably in the minority but I avoid WW2 books at all costs
I really liked this book, though it was not easy to read- not the prose, rather the subject matter.
I have it to read.
I bought it for my Daughter in hardback. I only read off my kindle now days. She has only read 50 or so pages if that. She is really too busy with a 18 month old and full time work. I tend to stay away from those years in books but have read my fair share. I do not see myself reading it . But one never knows?
i almost read it and then decided I really wasn’t up for the subject matter.. Ive heard good things about it though.
I loved it so much.
Oh my yes! Absolutely love the exquisite writing! It is rather hard to read because of the history and the unbelievable things done to the children but so well worth the read!
Good to know Nita. I need to read my copy.
Would love to win Donna martell
Which Mischling? Who is the author? There are several on Goodreads with that title.
@Laura Thank you!
I’ve made it about halfway through and really like it, but it’s an emotional gut-punch, to say the least.
I read it. I loved it but it truly broke my heart. A very emotional book.
I haven’t been able to yet, @Laura One of my A Novel Bee FB crew described it as brutally beeautiful!! But I will eventually!! ??
