My almost 4 year old grandson loves books. “I’m going to give you a bear hug”, Clifford, I Spy books, anything Disney, pretty much anything..
My great-grandson is 3 and he really likes this book. Owl Moon by Jane Yolen. He also likes A Chair for My Mother (a Latina family), and also All the Places to Love (a farm family), by Patricia MacLachlan. I like to get him books that depict diversity of many kinds. A new book I just got him is called Neither, by Airlie Anderson.
I thought of one more – A Quiet Place, by Douglas Wood. About a quiet boy who has a good imagination. I used this book to talk about the quiet place we all have inside and sometimes we like to be there. Owen is a rowdy, extraverted three-year-old, but he got it.
All the Places to Love, yes!
