Does anyone else have that daily struggle of do I read or binge Netflix???Does anyone else have that daily struggle of do I read or binge Netflix??? Delainey #questionnaire
Yes! I just now got hooked on parks and rec and am trying to binge watch it while reading all my library books before they are due back lol!
Oh no! That’s the worst, it’d be dangerous for me to be part of the library because half the time I do spend the day binge watching? even worse with a long series like that! I’m currently watching Desperate Housewives and it’s kept me from reading sooo much!
@Delainey I usually don’t have much of an attention span for tv but I have been trying for years to like parks and it just finally clicked lol! I have 4 books on my overdrive for Kindle, all due back in 13 days. I need to hurry!
All the time
Story of my life. But I buy my TV series. Today it’s Dexter until time to read
That’s smart! I just hope and pray streaming services don’t take off what I’m watching when I’m halfway done with it lol! I was the opposite today, tried making a big dent in what I’m currently reading so I can binge tonight?
I’m one of those all or none types. Usually
Me. I’m never in the mood to do both.
Omg totally. Yesterday I binge watched all day and no reading lol!!!
That’s been me recently! I’ve honestly been so bad, took me a month to finish my most recently read book because I’ve been binging Desperate Housewives for three weeks straight??
I haven’t watched any of my shows the last several months. So I was binge watching all of them before the season premieres. I also got so behind in my reading lol!!! ???
A third solution is better…write and research what’s an important topic in your local area that needs attention.
Oh yes!! I don’t seem to getting as much reading done since I got netflix
I’m even worse after Amazon Prime! It depends really whether I’ve got a good series to watch or not, but once I find one with over 5 seasons my reading schedule is screwed?
Delainey Koons sometimes happens, so you’re not alone. ??
@Delainey Know the feeling! I have that much on the go on Now TV too that I am still reading the same book a week later. Usually only takes me 3 to 4 days
It’s terrible! I feel guilty when I’m watching Netflix but I. Can’t. Stop. ?
Hahaha, same, I feel bad for my book characters and it’s like I’m sorry for betraying you? it’s just so much easier for me to focus on a tv series than a book, which I know is so lazy for my brain but I can’t stop either lol!
I used to be so addicted to Netflix but it’s gotten better and im now reading more. ?
Ha yes ??
Yes often but in a series slump at the moment lol
Yep, I’m the same at the mo?
YES! I employ a ‘3 episode = 3 chapters’ sorta thing and then kinda give myself a break if I want extra chapters
I totally need to try that!
Me too. It seems like it could give you the best of both worlds options
Yes. Just finished Orange is the New Black. I’m sad it’s over.
The struggle is real?
I read and have the tv on. Drives my family crazy
I alternate between reading one chapter of my book and watching one episode of something!
Read a book
Not Netflix, but yes. My struggle is do I read or do I binge watch Outlander (again) or This is Us (again).
Looove This is Us? Reminds me I need to finish the first season! And yeah to be honest I’m more of a Amazon Prime girl lol!
I’m in the middle of reading Horns but Atypical season two came out today and I put the book down
No, for me, reading always wins.?
Nope, read when I get off work until bedtime. Then bedtime I watch Netflix for a few hours.
All the time!
But since I take public transportation to work (about an hour each way), I try to get my reading time in then
yep its ok to love to read and watch things just depends on my mood
YES!? read?game?watch?? It’s the eternal struggle??
Hahaha, I have gone off gaming a bit but I was into my Nintendo 2DS for a while and I was just thinking there is not enough time in the day!??
@Delainey YES!! Exactly! Too many fun things and not enough time?
I just discovered game of thrones and outlander starts again in October and am trying to read all my books as well .
Delainey glad its not only me with the struggle at least I do my aldult colouring when I watch netflix but I cannot colour and read
Oh yes! I love adult colouring books? I also do paper quilling, as I always feel like I need to be doing something with my hands while watching Netflix so I don’t feel like a complete lazy lump if I’m watching all day lol!
Right now I’m binging Atypical!! I’ll read at bedtime!
Me- but also with hulu and amazon prime
LOVE Amazon Prime!?
me too…i’ve had amazon prime for 2-3 years and i didnt start actually ‘using’ it until this January haha
Yup… every single day
Ah…yeah. Do I watch Ozark or finish reading my book?
Yes all the time!!!!
Yes all the time.
I try to make time for both.
No contest – Read
All the time!
No because I prefer to read.
Hulu but yes
My daily struggle is do I read while my toddler is napping or should I clean and nap along with him ? reading usually wins out though
Do I read or do I play my stupid Solitaire game!!
Lol. EVERY DAY!!!!?
Not really since I rather read than watch TV. 😉
In my case, it’s do I read or get on the computer.
Not a daily struggle, . . . but definitely a weekendly one. ?
I had this issue today. I wanted to read The Glass Ocean (by Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, and Karen White) but I really wanted to watch The Crown. And that won out. I’ve read three books in 2 weeks so I figured I could take a day.
I just discovered 11/22/63 on Hulu starring James Franco!! And…Castlerock which is by JJ Abrams and Steven King!! Somewhat bookish, right?!
I just give up a lot of sleep!
Do I read or do I knit?
I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!
Every other hour of the day!
Yes! All the time!
Yes… I had several hours today where I could have read. Instead I watched almost the entire 4th season of The Great British Baking Show. ?
Yes. Very frustrating. Leads to staying up all night to do both, then dragging thru the next day mainlining coffee. Ugh!!!!
I try and do both at the same time! ?
Por que no los dos?
Reading wins most of the time.
Yes! The struggle is real!?
The struggle is real my friend!!
Nope. Reading ALWAYS trumps TV watching. My big debate is reading or pixel arting.
I admit, sometimes Netflix wins?
Yes… and too many times the TV wins
I start Netflix and read a book at the same time
Yes, the struggle is real.
No. My wife got Nflix two years ago and I’ve watched it exactly one time. They have virtually no movies I’m interested in.
@Christine Started Mad Men. Great ensemble acting and sets, but beyond that it went on about four years too long.
I wrote about it here:
More than u know
No. Mines is do I read or do I go book hauling for good deals ??
For me, do I read, binge Netflix, or take a nap?
I am going through that struggle right now even though its late at night
Sometimes, it’s an on and off thang!
Yep having it right now!!!
Both my tbr and tbw lists are astronomical…. I hope there are books and Netflix in the next world
My migraines make the choice for me.
Only every day
Our tv doesn’t go on during the day, so reading it is. Nights we binge on Netflix lol
Yes i love both
I’m so glad this was finally brought out into the open!!! Yes, the struggle is real……..?
I always have that problem
The Struggle is Real!
Sure do! I am reading and watching Dead Files currently.
So right on!
Yes!! The Taiwanese series have had me hooked. About to start my fourth series and am loving them!!
Nope. The internet connection out here in the boonies is too slow & crappy for Netflix to be viable. It tends to be more a battle of which book to read, or just hitting the fanfic sites again.
Read all the way. No Netflix in this house ?
I have such a pile on my coffee table. And it just keeps getting bigger.
Yes! Damn you, Netflix!
Rarely, so I added BritBox on my computer. That, and semi-frequent library trips, seem to be doing the job for now.
No struggle. Netflix is mostly garbage. The only difference between network garbage and Netflix is the latter’s ability to employ obscene language and nudity
Never. Books always win.
We need to be friends…lol
For me its books, gaming or Netflix. More times than not Books win out
Yes. I’ve been binge watching Riverdale or The Great Britush Baking Show and hadn’t read a book in a couple of weeks.
