I love to change it up. I have always loved a good page turner, whodunnit but found out recently I am fascinated by true crime. But I enjoy a good story about a character’s life too.
I can. In March I did two true crimes and then did a book club selection that was very different and guess would be considered women’s fiction (most of us didn’t really enjoy it) but it was a story about relationships to the narrator and how that shaped her. It was actually kind of sad as she was attracted to toxic people and never truly lived.
@Kevin honestly I don’t have one. I’m reading B A Paris Bring me back and really enjoying it but at the same time live Jodi picoult and Peter Robinson and easy beach reads!
I don’t really stick to one genre. I dabble in a lot of different things and it’s whatever strikes me at the time. I can go from personal development books, fantasy, fiction, biographies, children’s literature whatever.
I like to read different genres and rarely stick with just one more than 2 or 3 books in a row before switching to another. I also like to read multiple genres at a time so I don’t confuse the different stories from audiobook to ebook to paper book.
I prefer both at different times. I like audiobooks during my work commutes and when doing housework. I prefer paperback when lounging around and staying in one place.
@Debbie, I didn’t like cozy mysteries much. In fact, I used to find it disappointing. But now I do enjoy reading cozy mysteries. Of course, the plot is often lame, compared to hardcore crime novels which often reveals the culprit too much obviously at the beginning, but I like the humor underneath the whole plot.
I have my main favorite genre, mystery, but then i mix it up with romance and literary fiction to keep it interesting. I try not to read the same type of novel again after I’ve read 1, so i dont get bored.

So you can go from a mystery to a romance no problem?

I work in LE so I see enough at work. ?
What is LE?
Law Enforcement , sorry!
Wow, sounds tough! You deserve something cozy!
If it’s good, is it merely genre? Is Anna Karenina women’s lit? Or True Grit only a western? Love In The Time Of Cholera romantic fiction?
So true! I have a hard time classifying books sometimes because they seem to transcend so many genres.
I have my main favorite genre, mystery, but then i mix it up with romance and literary fiction to keep it interesting. I try not to read the same type of novel again after I’ve read 1, so i dont get bored.
mystery!
