What do you all prefer? Physical book to hold in your hand while you read or reading on a Kindle/iPad?

What do you all prefer? Physical book to hold in your hand while you read or reading on a Kindle/iPad?
I like them both.
Me too! I love the convince of my kindle but I love putting a book on my shelf! It’s like proof of an adventure I’ve taken!
Well said!
a real book – I love the page turning , using my favorite bookmarks, jumping back to check a “clue” , seeing it on the table waiting for me
Both. I do that with my Kindle/Scribd books. I take a picture of the book cover I have read and I have a notebook I put them in.
I like both 🙂
I was literally just having this discussion with a friend 🙂 I never thought I’d convert to an Ereader but I started approx 4 years ago and it’s all I read now! I’ve found that I’ve tried way more new authors since reading ebooks than before, mostly because it’s so easy to download a book and a lot cheaper (where I live anyway!) than buying an actual book.
That’s one of the main reasons for me too. Ebooks are much cheaper. My fiancé is a early to bed and I’m a night owl. I like my iPad because I can read in bed without a light bothering him!
Same here Rachel!! My TBR list has grown do much because of the price of ebooks and Bookbub LOL
Same here! I love a book but with living in the UP it’s so much easier to just download an ebook on my Kindle.
I prefer to hold a book in my hands. I love the feel and the smell of a lovely book. Yes, I know that sounds weird, but hey,I am! LOL
both just depends
I love real handheld books but have gotten to where I enjoy reading in bed at night with my Amazon Fire.
Guess you could say Book by day…Kindle by night.
I use both but do prefer the actual book… the feel, the smell, the sound of pages turning ?
i wish i could find the books i bought though on my nook
I like both … I have been reading more books because I misplaced my charger for my Nook … I like my Nook for when I am on public transportation or on the treadmill at the gym … my fav part about my Nook is that I can read it in the dark LOL …
That is me Rachel only I just started mine last year. I told Gary almost all year I wouldn’t ever read on one then I had a friend recommend a book and told me I could get it on Kindle so I tried it and….I love it now. ?
Definitely my Nook as can adjust the font and no glasses needed 🙂
Both
Exactly..in the dark lol
I like both!!!
both
Bookbub!!! ?
I need to check out bookbub!!
Bookbub is awesome!
I used to feel bad for books and if they ever stopped existing id be devastated. While I do still feel that way…. The only time I can read is at night, in bed, in the dark.. And, for that I need my kindle. I love it. It’s ease. It’s lack of clutter. It’s easy to hold. So currently, I suppose I prefer my kindle!
Gretchen I fell that same way LOL …. I love the feel and smell of books LOL … I do enjoy my Nook though
I still have entirely too many physical books. I feel like I NEED them. It’s bizarre. I don’t read them.
are you my twin … LOL … finally someone who gets me ???? …. I just live books
I moved this summer and my friend helped my put some stuff in my BIL’s basement until my apartment was ready and he was like ‘okay nerd with all the books’ …. than when my apartment was ready my boyfriend helped me and he could have killed me with all the boxes of books …
Well…now that I already know you like books… I’ve also looked at your profile.. You have animals. Disney and MnMs on there.. We should be friends lol.
ya think LOL …. I’m literally peeling my pants ….
Lol. Peeling your pants.
That too … I’m having a hot flash LOL
My profile picture us with my twin cousins who are 8 and a half now I was their nanny from when they were 3 months until they were 5 … they are some of my favorites too ❤❤❤
Oh my …. when I hear a motorcycle I always say: Jax honey I’m coming LOL
I like both. As long as I’m reading, I’m happy.
I do both. Nook and regular books.
I like both too — I really like to have an actual book in my hand, but my kindle does come in handy. Especially if I travel — I don’t have to fill my suitcase with books.
both. like my lighted tablet.
I have both
real book or an audio book..I have aKindle but seldom use it..
I should clarify: For academic texts, I prefer having the physical copies cause it’s easier to annotate and such. Personal reading is either/or, though.
I agree!
All of my classes are online and I pay for digital copies (forced to) I either print out the chapters or get really excited when the format changes and I can highlight directly in the books from my iPad.
Physical book. Although I use my reader when I travel, it just does not have the same feel as holding a book. There is no substitute.
Both…I love books, any way I can have them!
Both
Both……but as I get older I am liking my nook more because I can enlarge the type!
I still prefer book-books
I love my books too much to try a Kindle.
I love curling up in bed with my book and hot water bottle (Winter here in UK, soo cold!!) and just reading until I’m ready to sleep.
Thought nine times out of ten i end up reading until the early hours. Once I’m really into a story i can read for hours.
An actual book
Both. ?
Both
Books during the day and my kindle at night.
I use both. Just depends. I use Kindle when I’m at work on a break or away from home or late at night.
Books in hand.
Physical
Book. The smell, the feel, the weight…..definitely books.

I like both.
I prefer the actual book in hands.

Kindle definetly
My iPad. Love it.
Thought i would miss turning pages of a book, but i love my kindle. Eyesight is so bad cant read the print on the books. With my kindle i can enlarge the print
A book always!
Kindle
Nook. I love how light it is. No pages sticking together. Reading in bed without a light bothering your partner. The portability of my massive bookshelf. Cheaper books. INSTANT books! No having to physically go to the library or store, or wait for an order to arrive.
Love my Kindle
I prefer the actual book in hand lovv it.
Ebooks on my iPhone. I started off reading them on my iPod touch in 2009 and never looked back. I had an eink kindle for a while but sold it recently because I like reading on my phone most.
Nook! I kicked and fought getting one. My husband got me it for Mother’s Day two years ago & I absolutely love it!
Physical book. I do like my Kindle of r traveling.
Both
Physical
I love my kindle
I enjoy my kobo at night (it lights up) and a book during the day.
I love a real book, but also have a Nook and the Kindle app on my phone.. plus audio books!
will never use a kindle – i want the book held in my hand
Kindle
I want to hold my book and drink tea — 🙂
I like reading from both
book
book
Physical book!!!
book
Kindle!
Real book
I like both. The only reason I like Kindle, Ipad, and Nook is because if I want to read in bed..some nights I cannot because I have grumpy husband who wants to sleep.
Hardcover most of the time but Kindle App on the iPad when I’m reading in bed.
Both.
Both….I’m old school and love a book but I’ve found my Nook Color comes in handy for reading those 1,000 page King novels and also at night in bed I don’t need a lamp on with the Nook. I pray that there will always be a choice.
Book in my hands!
I’d rather hold a book
Physical
I like both. If traveling, I like the kindle.
I like both. At home, I like my physical book, since I can place my stack all together on the table. But when I’m out and about, I like having my tablet with my reading apps.
Ipad ,have to listen to because of failing eyesight , I do miss holding a book and reading it.
Strictly ebooker here. Love my iPad!
I much prefer real books to hold (and smell) , but also enjoy downloading e-books.
book
so definitely a “real” book
Physical
Definitely a physical book
I love my Kindle because of the option to enlarge the print. Makes it much easier on the eyes.
Physical, however I find it very hard to hold them with my illness. So, most of the time I read on my kindle.
both
Book
My favorite is still a book book but I have a kindle and use it frequently. Certainly advantages to it I can’t deny.
Like both
book
My kindle is convenient’ but miss the feel of a book in my hands!
Book
Book. I have a Nook and only once read a book on it. Kept getting headaches. I love the feel of a book. ☺
iPad!!!!!!
Book
I was book only for years. Then I got a tablet for Christmas a year ago and my grandson downloaded the kindle app. I am so hooked on it I deleted everything else and only use it to read. I love it.
ireally like books,BUT i got a kindle and im enjoying it, too. so i would have to say both.
Book
Audio book!
I enjoy hold a book and reading the words.
Both
Physical book! Nothing but that for this woman. I carry a big purse so I can tote my “purse book” with me. I kept it there so I always have one.
Regular book for now until I get used to my tablet that I got for Christmas / then maybe. K
book
I would say the Book.I love to keep my favorite series books and I love the feel of an actual book.
Holding in my hands.
I love my Kindle BUT, I enjoy a book
Book
Both.
There’s just something about holding a book in your hands and going to the library
I have both, but I’m partial to actual books. 🙂
I prefer a physical book but Kindle/iPad has it’s place. I take a book everywhere and if I am packing for a trip books take up too much space. I also like the fact that i can download a book from my local library when my budget is getting tight.
Book, use Kindle, but books 3 times more often
Book
Book 🙂
Ipad
I just got a Kindle. I think there are times that turning a page is part of the experience of reading a book…but others, like when I’m traveling, and I want to pore thru several books & not lug them around…the Kindle is helpful.
both..
Everything.
I had a Kindle app on my iPad but prefer actual books.
Book.
I enjoy both for different reasons. Nothing beats the feel and smell of a paper book, however, when I travel the weight and size of the Kindle is really convenient . Also, since I’ve run out of bookshelf room (until the day I buy a house) the Kindle saves me space…and no evidence for the husband to find. 🙂
No evidence until he borrows your iPad or Kindle and sees all of your books. Really babe, I can explain. I didn’t pay for most of those books. lol
Funny thing is my kindle is on my phone. On Tuesday my son and his gf brought me a kindle. I’m loving it.
Both. iPad saves space
I like doing both.
