I’ve got the voyage which is not cheap. I’ve also got the paperwhite. In my opinion there is little difference, the voyage is slightly crisper. But the difference in price doesn’t really justify the differences. I do like how you turn the pages on the voyage, but again it’s not exactly difficult on the paperwhite!
I much prefer the back lit ones because I read a lot at night and I don’t disturb anyone.
I don’t like the fire at all and it’s no good for reading in the sun. The glare is awful. You might as well use your iPad if you can cope with the glare.
The min back lit ones are fantastic for reading in the sun, no glare and crisp pages.
I’d personally always go for the paperwhite. Unless money is no option.
What two are you looking at? X

I was always curious as to what the difference was. I’ve never actually seen a Voyage to compare with my paperwhite.
Does it have clicking buttons? I Sometimes hold my Kindle in my left hand when reading and find it hard to turn the pages, i do find my self using my nose if i have something in my right hand hahahah!

I’ve got a paperwhite and I can’t fault it at all. Like Louise I read a lot at night and it’s great for that.
Not had much sun since I got it so I can’t comment on that at the minute, although if it’s anything like my previous kindle it will be great for reading in the sun x

I love my Fire but definitely not for use in the sun. I have an original Kindle with 3G and keyboard which is perfect. When I replace it I may go for a paper white so I can read without a light on but I have no issues with this one.

I have a fire HD and read in the sunlight. You can purchase antiglare screen covers for it for a few pounds from ebay…..it now goes everywhere with me 🙂

I have kindle fire and it’s awful in the sun ? I have to turn the brightness right up and then the charge runs out by the end of the day. I’m in Turkey just now and having this problem – ok, I admit pretty much all I’m doing is sitting sunbathing and reading but it’s really annoying me. Following this post with interest as I definitely need a different one for next time ?

i bought a bog standard kindle but not the paperwhite – as v expensive there is no back light so you cant read in the dark but i switch from my kindle fire to my other kindle and it keeps your book mark – i use the standard kindle for reading outside in the sun and fire for indoors 🙂

Tablets will never be good in sunlight. To much glare. I still say paperwhite. As fire is a tablet rather than reader. Whereas kindle paperwhite or touch is just a reading device
