I’ve been reading chapter books as long as I can remember, I am asking for suggestions for books for my niece who wants to start reading harder books. I’ll pass the congratulations her way ?
Mercy Watson is a great first start. Then Magic Treehouse. They are fun to take turns reading (i.e. one page per person) and have lots of repetition between books. The Rainbow Fairies and all their subsequent iterations are also fun. Secrets of Droon and the ABC mysteries are also good series at this level. Many of the series above come in economical sets and can be found used. Dick King Smith who wrote Babe also wrote several earlier chapter books with more interesting plot lines. I particularly recommend The Water Horse and Lady Lollipop.
The Magic Tree House series, Nate The Great, Junnie B Jones
I LOVED the Magic Treehouse series back in the day ?
Also The Secrets of Droon series.
