A stranger in the woods by Michael Finkel
A House In the Sky, Amanda Lindhout’s story.
I read a review and my interest was piqued…but I couldn’t bring myself to pick it up and read it…. one day I saw it at Chapters.. on sale. So I picked it up, sat in a chair, and thought I’d give it a try. 80 pages later, I bought the book. Finished it the next day. It’s beautifully written… amazing.
Drinking: A Love Story (Caroline Knapp) and Blackout (Sarah Hepola)

Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe
I just downloaded this one. Can’t wait to read it.
I’m listening to this as I type. Soo good!
I went to his one man show last spring and he was great live too. Does he narrate the audiobook?
He does.
I might have to get it just to hear him read the book.

I just finished listening to Retta’s “So Close to Being the Shit, Y’all Don’t Even Know.” Very funny and I recommend the audio be cause she reads it and ad libs some updates.
Dad is Fat
I also really like Food: A Love Story
I just finish From the Corner of the Oval by Beck Dorey-Stein. She was a stenographer in the Obama administration. Great, quick read.
Anything by Celia Rivenbark
Senior moment here. Read your reply and said to myself, “I thought I read everything Celia Rivenbark has written,” then promptly googled Amazon for “Anything” by Celia Rivenbark. Imagine my disappointment when I couldn’t find it. Took my a couple of moments you meant anything (written) by Celia.
@Mary sorry. Should have been more specific! LOL

Chelsea Handler’s are good and so are Jenny Mollen’s
Manic Kingdom. Although it’s more of a memoir/novel hybrid.
“Let’s Pretend We’re Normal” Tricia Lott Wiliford
Laurie Notaro, Jenny Lawson.
My favorite is “Truth and Beauty” by Anne Patchett. It’s about a friendship she has with another woman who is facially disfigured. That woman (Lucy Grealy) also wrote a fantastic memoir called “Autobiography of a Face”. So they’re kind of companion memoirs! So, so good.
