Read it on holiday in the summer as I had not read it at school like so many others (Mayor of Casterbridge was one of our school reads). I really enjoyed it and found it very emotional! I would have loved to read this in my teens.
It’s a wonderful book – Read it at school 30 years ago and then again recently when my 14 year old son had it’s a school read too A must read modern classic
One of the classics. Michael Gove wanted it taken off the school reading list – I hope that now he has gone it is back on! Read it years and years ago and recently saw the play of it at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre which was also brilliant. x
Definitely on my all time favourites list. Reread it recently when I heard Michael Gove was taking it off the curriculum. The film is on my favourites list too.
Her first book, and it won the Pulitzer. There’s no wonder she never wrote another. Margaret Mitchell did the same thing. To Kill a Mockingbird is definitely a bucket list book.
Gregory Peck is the reason the movie was made. He argued for years about it as he wanted to play Atticus Finch. I can’t imagine any other actor as Atticus. The scene in the courtroom with Tom and the glass…brilliant.
On my next to read. Nearly finished the colour purple 🙂
Brilliant!!! Did it second last year of school… Several lifetimes ago!!!
Love that book.
Brilliant read.
