If it is one I want to keep forever and I know it comes in hardcover then I get it in hardcover if it isn’t one I want to keep forever than it doesn’t matter
Paperbacks are easier to read for me but I hate how easily the cover can get damaged ? I always buy paperback and regret it once I get one tiny dent in the cover
@Paul I am a little bit crazy but I love looking at the size of the hard covers and tackling but I don’t like taking them out of the house. The soft cover I take to the beach or to set outside
I prefer paperback to hardback simply because my hands are small, and a bit arthritic, and it’s easier to hold them. I do read hardbacks, however. Depends on the book, actually.
I like hardbacks on my shelves but prefer reading paperbacks- they are lighter and since many of my books are quite thick, easier to handle while reading.
Hardbacks are nice sometimes. But I like to look at them because otherwise it feels like I’m destroying the book. If I read them, they’re not perfect anymore.
Me, I don’t like hardbacks and I don’t know why either!! ?
Me!!
Paperbacks are so much easier to hold!
I do because it’s easier on my hands. I have osteoarthritis
They’re more comfortable
They’re easier to read in bed! ?
Me! I can’t stand hardcovers
I prefer HARD
@Samantha ?
HARD COVER
like both
I really dislike hardback books. They are awkward and heavy in my hands. I have diabetic nueropathy arthritis and carpal tunnel
I love large soft cover
Hard covers are pretty but they hurt my hands and wrists
If it is one I want to keep forever and I know it comes in hardcover then I get it in hardcover if it isn’t one I want to keep forever than it doesn’t matter
My wallet does?
I prefer paperback because they’re lighter weight and easier to hold. (Neck injury affects my arm strength and grip)☺
Hardbacks anytime
✋ paperbacks because hardbacks hurt my hands
I like the look of hardbacks but love the feel of a paperback when reading
Yes I am more of a paperback person
Hardbacks easier if I want to knit and read

Paperbacks fit in my purse
Paper backs are the best!!!
Hardbacks are more expensive, that’s why 😉
They’re cheaper!
They’re cheaper than hardbacks, and easier to hold with one hand when using the other to eat
me!!! Mass paperback is better too!!!
I do. They are lighter and easier to hold.
Yes!!
Hardbacks cos when you read paperbacks the front page goes curly
The pages yellow with age in paper books too. Not the same quality as hardbacks usually.
Paper for me.
Paperbacks are easier to read for me but I hate how easily the cover can get damaged ? I always buy paperback and regret it once I get one tiny dent in the cover
@Brianna also have you noticed paperbacks are cheaper than hardbacks usually too
I always lose the front cover of hard copies
@Tera yes that’s a point they are just loose. Wonder why they don’t stick them down
Yeah, they’re so much cheaper. Also if I already bought one book in an series as either hard or soft cover the rest HAVE to be the same
@Brianna yes me too.
Paper back
Paperbacks in the summer and hard covers in the winter
@Rebecca strange. Why
@Paul I am a little bit crazy but I love looking at the size of the hard covers and tackling but I don’t like taking them out of the house. The soft cover I take to the beach or to set outside
I love paper back because they are easier to handle and bring with ya almost anywhere
I used to love them because I could fit them in a purse but as I get older I find I seek out hard backs.
Both
When I was younger I liked hardcover but now with fibromalygia and other stuff other aging stuff give me the paperback because its easier.
I do! I like to read comfortably and I can’t do that with hardbacks ? I still buy them though lol
Hard backs are gorgeous but floppy large(ish) print paper backs are the superior reading medium ?
I prefer hardbacks. I don’t like my book covers to get bent or creased.
I like hardbacks for reading in my chair and paperbacks for reading in bed.
I do. They are lighter, easier to hold, I can easily cram them in my purse, they’re cheaper, and I can fit more in my book shelves.
Me!
I do because the are easier to carry with you
I prefer paperback to hardback simply because my hands are small, and a bit arthritic, and it’s easier to hold them. I do read hardbacks, however. Depends on the book, actually.
Hard backs because sometimes when I reread something in paper back they rip and break apart anyone have the same thing happen to you
And I’m careful with them
I love hardback but they are a bit expensive compared to paperbacks .. So I always get paperbacks these days
Me, they feel better…the trade paperbacks that is…
I like hardbacks on my shelves but prefer reading paperbacks- they are lighter and since many of my books are quite thick, easier to handle while reading.
I agree that the paper backs are cheaper that’s the downside to the hard covers
I will do either but I mainly buy paperbacks because I can pack more In my bookshelf ???
Well in most cases paperback are cheaper lol…
Me. Easyer to read.
And carry around as always have a book in my bag ?
Me.
Can’t read hard backs, don’t like the way they feel in my hands
Same
They’re easier to hold!!
Meeeeee
I have to have hard backs now. I read exclusively in bed and it is soooooo much easier
hardcover all the way! =)
I prefer paperbacks coz they’re cheaper, easier to store in a bookcase and lighter to carry around with me everywhere.
The hardbacks also feel kind of weird to me when I hold them.
I like both.
Hardbacks look prettier on the shelf, but paperbacks are easier to read in bed and carry around with you.
This question should be pinned.
me
I do. They’re cheaper and there’s no cover jacket to slide around. But I like hardcover for the sake of looking pretty on shelves.
Paperbacks weigh less and hurt less when you fall asleep holding them. 😉
@Tracy I’ll take your word for it ?
I prefer paper backs.
Paperbacks because hardbacks are too much.
Paperbacks because they are so light and easy to carry
If I’m traveling paperback otherwise hardbacks.
Paperback because I find them easier to carry and read. Hardbacks are too hard. Get it? ???
I like both!! And enjoy Kindle books too because if you want a Kindle book you don’t have to pay shipping
@Natalie this was about paperbacks and hardbacks not kindles.
I hate kindles.
For books I plan on reading once, I prefer paperbacks. I prefer hard covers for beautiful, reference books or manuals that I plan on keeping.
The writers that I collect I like in hardback
Paperbacks are cheaper and more portable.
Hardbacks are nice sometimes. But I like to look at them because otherwise it feels like I’m destroying the book. If I read them, they’re not perfect anymore.
If I’m giving it as a gift, I prefer to give a hardback. My personal preference is a paperback.
