I prefer bookstores, i feel it’s important to support local bookstores. ??
I would normally go to a bookshop… but I live too far away from one … and my german sucks, so I can’t yet read “auf Deutsch” … so I get them online …
.
Amazon (prime)
Thrift book (prices)
Book depository (prices and different cover art available)
Amazon market place sometimes bookstores and had some great finds in my local charity shops
I like Smashwords because I like supporting self publishers. Some of them do a set your own price thing so you can get them for free and then if the book is good I will usually buy it again but pay a reflective price. Like an appreciation donation to support my fellow author ?
Amazon
Can get self-published, traditionally published all in one place
I don’t buy physical books anymore
Amazon used books at 0.01p. Only pay for delivery 2.80
Depends. I have space issue so tend to buy more kindle books. I am all for local shops our problem here is the one shop we do have is owned by a huge Corp and I would prefer one that is more about books and be independant and can bring in what they want not what is just best sellers
Amazon purely because I am not made of money. Book stores are nice (Indigo) but when I can buy all the same books for better prices the same day of release on Amazon its hard to justify shopping in actual stores
I like physical books stores a lot but when you live in a bible belted town where half the town thought Harry Potter was evil when he first came out, your fantasy choices are limited to the one local bookstore that doesn’t have fantasy. Lol
I live a few hundred km from the nearest city with a bookstore, so book shopping is somewhat of an all day event for me. I will spend hrs going from every little charity shop, to little book stores, even to places like ‘Big W’ if I know it’s a mainstream publication out on paperback, etc…
I have never bought any e-books, as just mentioning it to my son once and he came back an hour later with a usb stick that had over 3000 digital books on it, pretty much every classic ever written and then some.
