What’s your thoughts on the man named ove
One of my favourite books ever.
Movie was better.
I loved The Story of Arthur Truluv which is similar to Ove but much better IMO
LOVED it!!!!!! And, the movie. ?
I LOVED it (and didn’t think I would)
I loved the book and the movie.
I loved it
Loved both the book and the movie
Loved it. One of my all time favorite characters.
Was kind of slow and meandering, but I just loved Ove so I stuck with it until the end. No regrets. ?
❤️ Ove ❤️
Is that the man who walked to see a woman in a nursing home?
You’re thinking of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I enjoyed that more than I thought I would.
@Betty, that’s what I call a sweet little story, but not a lot more.
I was bored.
Great book. Well written!
I thought it was cute! It made me miss my grandfather quite a bit but it was flat out adorable. And it had me giggling in some places.
Loved the book
On my TBR
Bawled like a baby. One of my favorites
Great book !!
Wonderful book. Loved it.
I absolutely adored Ove.
Didn’t get past chapter 2
One of my favorites
I’m reading it now. I’m about 2/3 through and really enjoying it
Didn’t enjoy it
One of my favorite books! ❤️
Have not read it yet, but recently finished Beartown and really liked it. If you have read both of them, which is your favorite?
Loved it! Lent it to my mom and she’s loving it
One of my favorite books!
It started slow for me. I questioned why I was even reading about this grouchy old man. But then something wonderful happened, I began to see from glimpses of the past, why he is the way he is. I began to fall in love with Ove. By the end I was distraught. My family kept looking at me funny as I bawled like a baby. Such a wonderful story. Highly recommend.
Love loved it!!!!
I too loved it. After you read it, rent and watch the movie. It is subtitled, but you won’t even realize you are reading after the first 5 minutes.
It’s not the best Fredrik Backman’s book
Slow start, I almost gave up on it. Thanks to my fellow club members here, who insisted I keep reading, I did finish it and was pleasantly surprised! ?
Loved it. I cried about 18 different times. It definitely pulls on the heartstrings!
Loved it! Laughed, cried, and cried some more!
Lots of people loved it. My vote was just “OK”.
I had heard ahead of time that it was really funny but I couldn’t figure out why Ove’s escapades were funny. But by the end I was laughing with the rest of my friends.
Surprisingly tender moments
Really enjoyed it.
Enjoyed it the first time. Absolutely loved it the second time.
Loved that book so much!
I loved it! ❤️
Loved it !
I haven’t read that one yet but reading Beartown by him and liking it. I’ll have yo check it out
I couldn’t get into it
I read it, I was expecting to really like it, but it just seemed a little boring to me…
I love him. Ugly cried ❤️❤️❤️
Loved it so much!!!
Hated it. If it wasn’t a library book it would have endef up in charity shop.
I bought it because of all the rave reviews. I really loved it. Certain parts caught me by surprise and hit me straight in the heart and I really, really cried. I will read more books by this author; you get the feeling he’s very sensisitive, understands human nature and will never judge a book by its cover.
Very conflicted on it. Read 2/3s of it, struggled, and finally gave it to Project Learn. I guess there are some books for some people and this wasn’t for me.
Couldn’t get through it
I thoroughly enjoyed it
I’ve only just recently bought it, going to read soon?
Reading currently and its really moving 🙂
i am one of the few who disliked it.. the main character drove me nuts
@Rita me too. He never grew on me and I found the whole thing predictable.
i wanted to smack him upside the head
